For this year, I'm not sure how much it helps because it leaves us rather short on the frontcourt. But for the long run, this deal could save us from going through years of rebuilding. A future of Bynum and Rondo is scary. Also, if we could sign a couple solid role players coming into next season to bulster the frontcourt, I think we would be the favorites for a few years still as long as Kobe keeps it up.

A little bittersweet for me. If this is true, I love that were getting a quick youthful point guard but I've loved what Pau has done in his career with the Lakeshow despite his soft reputation. It will bring up the potential for Bynum though by playing alongside an excellent pass first point guard

Sheed starting at PF though? He's been out of the league for 2 years now, but it all depends on whether you believe the lakers are better off with an all-star PG or an all-star PF. Bynum & Pau are what would have made the difference against every team in the playoffs. Maybe Lakers are doing this to match-up better with Westbrook & Durant.

Rondo/Kobe/Bynum spreads the floor more in my opinion, Rondo can also get our shooters going with his passing.

Rondo will have full control of the ball which gives Kobe more time to get to his sweet spots on the floor rather than handling the ball himself, and the paint will be completely for Drew to dominate.

I myself see an improvement here.

I don't think it's true, and I honestly don't see why people are so crazy about Rondo. I love him as a player, and loved what he did against Cleveland, but one of our main problems is outside shooting, and Rondo doesn't offer that. Players will just sag off of Rondo...Great player, but not a great fit IMO.

The only way I would consider this trade is if we follow it up by adding Beasley. Rondo is probably the best PG we can get for Gasol but I prefer to keep the big three and not break it up. We should try to add a PG and SF to compliment Kobe,Gasol, and Bynum. I believe that we should keep Gasol as no team can match up with two 7 footers in the playoffs since the game slows down and becomes a halfcourt game.
