Essentially, if the Mavs can't move Marion, then they both won't be able to get even close to max deals there, so more than likely, only Deron ends up there. All the other moves Dallas needed to make, they did. The thing is, EVERY other GM in the league knows the situation I'm sure, so if one of them did trade for Marion, they have to do so knowing that means "D"-Will, "D"irk, "D"wight are gonna team up. The 3-headed "D"-Monster in "D"-Land (Dallas). I can already see the headlines.

That GM would have to be one of the dumbest of all time to allow that to happen, it's not exactly like Marion is some amazing piece on a great contract that people are really looking to add either...

And in steps Otis Smith...

;)

Also, for the record, if I hear Whiny Howard say one more time how "nobody knows how hard my life is right now" or whatever....I'm gonna seriously consider throwing my drink at him next home game. Must be real tough there, big guy....making $35mil/yr, living in a mansion, having everyone catering their every move to you. Rough. Grow up.

The magic insider guy they had (i never heard of him) said there was a direct quote of dwight from this weekend saying "there is a big possiblity i stay in orlando" or wording close to that.

Things sound very 50-50 right npw to me which is way better than i though we were at a few days ago.

Dwight did say that according to Slam magazine:

Dwight Howard still wants the Orlando Magic to trade him, but claims that there’s a “big possibility” of him staying with the team. Huh?! Florida Today has the confusing quotes: “Dwight Howard craves a championship and wants it ‘while I’m young and still have a lot of my abilities. I don’t want to wait until I’m old.’ […] Averaging 20.3 points and a career-high 15.4 rebounds entering Thursday night’s game at the Atlanta Hawks, Howard is highly desired. ‘There’s only one person in control of that,’ Howard said, ‘and that’s the man upstairs.’ Make no mistake, his trade request still stands, and the Mavs, Nets and Lakers still have permission to talk to his agent. But asked if there’s a future for him with the Magic, who had gotten back on track and entered the All-Star break as the Eastern Conference’s third-best team, Howard said, ‘It’s a big possibility. … It’s a big possibility.’”

I don't even know what to think anymore. I almost blacked out trying to put this all together. Figuring out Dwight is like watching Lost.

It's not that tough really. He wants money. He wants attention. He wants to "win" (I think lower on the list). He wants to be the alpha-dog on the team. He wants to deflect all blame for any decision by using God as the scapegoat. Essentially, he wants to have his cake and eat it too. He's an immature young man who doesn't know exactly what he wants, really.

Hahahaha at the throwing your drink at him. But I think the team to be scared of is Indy. Can you imagine Dallas offering Indy Marion, Rody B to bring off their bench with a couple of future picks. The Pacers would not even have to send a single player back and IMO makes them a better team. The only silver lining I see to that is Dallas would have to be pretty positive that they were going to get Dwight and Deron to give up that much for nothing. And with Dwight waffling I am hoping that there is still too much uncertainty for Dallas to do something like that

What if during Dwight's MVP speech he announces he's staying in Orlando. That would be historic yet unlikely

What if he announces he hasn't made a decision yet and wants to wait until offseason to re-assess the situation.

What if he does a wrestling swerve and says he's taking his talents to Brooklyn, takes off his jersey, spits on it and spray paints nWo across it?

Ugh....I didn't even think about that possibility. Again though, is Larry dumb enough to create a powerhouse like that in Dallas simply to pick up Marion and Rody? I'm sure Cuban has been shopping the hell out of Marion though, I heard he has a whole salespitch about what a great defenseman he is. I'm 95% convinced that Cuban has basically been ASSURED by both D-Will and Dwight that if he clears Marion, they will both sign there. Both Dwight's agent and Deron's agent are BFF's with Cuban. Cuban isn't one to sit in the background and do nothing....he has been making moves the past 2 years to set up for this exact scenario. He is a savvy f***er. This has been planned by all sides involved.

Who? Deron, who wants him to leave Orlando? D-Wade who wants it himself? Lebron who doesn't really like him? Or Melo who never saw a shot he didn't like?

The reason big guys don't typically do well in Allstar games is because their stats typically include rebounds and blocks. There are few missed shots for rebounds, and nobody plays defense. They also don't get assists because the guards dominate the ball. So their stats suffer big time. Also, it's a very high-paced game so big men are often left trailing the fastbreak-type offenses. They thrive in half-court games, not playground games. I do kind of see them trying to get Dwight more involved than typically though. We shall see.

What if he hasn't announced his decision because he has gruelingly trained bears to spell out I AM STAYING with a well choreographed dance routine while Tupac comes out of hiding to rap the bears off the court so Dwight can then give his tear filled I love this city speech.........I foresaw this in a vision, although it might have been the legal drugs out here. Only time will tell

Rondo who said he isn't obliged to do it? Pierce who doesn't like poodles?

It might be a clause in Rose's new adidas contract to feed the beast, though...

I've thought from the beginning that Cuban was the real threat. Nothing has been said much about Dallas and that is frightening.

Nope. Fail. Incorrect. Way to not know the rules of the new CBA there Peter Vecsey. Man, being a journalist must be so easy. You can just spew out complete nonsense and nobody seems to know or care...

Dwight Howard ready to play out season with Magic

Howard finds himself as the center of attention during All-Star weekend not so much because the game is in his home city, but because he asked for a trade from the Magic in the offseason. The Magic allowed Howard’s representatives to negotiate with three teams of his request – the New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks – before tabling trade talks at the start of the season. Now, with the league’s March 15 trade deadline looming, Howard and his agent, Dan Fegan, have shown little interest recently in pushing for a deal, sources said, increasingly the likelihood the Magic will keep their star center for the duration of the season.

I don't think a team would help us this summer but I don't think Vecsey's premise is wrong. I believe the CBA allows for sign and trades for the first two years of this deal.
