Huge trade with Magic/Lakers/Hornets

Post#1 » by Maefteda » Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:06 pm

Timberwolves:

Trades: Beasley, Ridnour
Receives: Reddick, Ariza

We get good defensive players and perfect fits for our SF and SG positions, while we get rid of talent that doesn't fit.

Magic:

Trades: Howard, Reddick
Receives: Gasol, Gordon

The downgrade on their center, is equalled to the upgrade at SG. Howard is expiring and Gordon can sign an extension.

Lakers:

Trades: Bynum, Gasol
Receives: Howard, Beasley, Kaman

They get Howard and Beasley who they want, Bynum and Gasol gets good replacements.

Hornets:

Trades: Gordon, Kaman, Ariza
Receives: Bynum, Ridnour

They get rid of players who either wants out or are old and get 2 young building blocks to interest potential buyers.

-------------------

Probably won't happen, but I think there is potential for a deal here. Reddick and Ariza are on not too good contracts, but they fit our defensive(and offensive) needs pretty good. We all know Howard is on the move, but I expect Magic to want more for him.

So.. Reddick aten't on good contracts so we give up two former #2 picks. One is a rookie the other on an (at worst) expiring contract. Both have worlds of potential and we get two role players, pretty mediocre at best, in exchange. How does this make any sense at all???

You must be a HUGE Hornets fan. There is absolutely no way Eric Gordon, who is a restricted free-agent this summer is worth Bynum and Williams.

Beasley is gone if we don't trade him. Williams is behind Love in the pecking order and won't get the playtime he needs beside a good defensive center. Hornets give up Ariza and Kaman as well, but I can see that Bynum and Williams is too much. Reddick and Ariza would fit very nicely into our team. It's just a suggestion, and I don't think it would've gone through, but I can see potential in these 4 teams as trading partners.

While I love the two guys coming in, I think we get ripped off. Can't give up two players of the skill/talent that Beas/Williams have and only bring in some decent role players.

I'd LOVE to have JJ Redick here, but not in that package.

Ridnour for Beasley then? I want suggestions, because there is some potential between these teams.

Take out Williams and it's actually worth doing for us.

Edit:

So what? He's still only 20 years old. He was still JUST the number 2 overall pick. He's worth more than this regardless of how much he's playing.

Changed it up. Ridnour instead of Williams. Still don't think Magic would agree though, they might need a pick or something.

Pekovic/Milicic
Love/Williams
Ariza/Johnson
Reddick/Webster
Rubio/Barea

Pretty darn good.

That would be fine. I doubt the Utah and Memphis picks would actually amount to much. probably jsut become 2nd round picks. So i wouldn't be opposed to sending Utah pick to Magic and Memphis pick to Hornets.

i personally can't see utah being one of the 9 worst teams 2 years from now, so i think it will have quite a bit of value soon imo.

Pretty solid trade idea. I think the Hornets say no as presented. I think the Magic would jump at this trade. Lakers probably as well. Seems fair for MN. Any ideas on how to slightly worsen the trade for the Magic and possibly Lakers and improve it for the Hornets?
