Im deadly serious, Im not worried about Dallas as Williams and Howards free agent destination if Howard is indeed not traded.

Were basically the only legit team in the race for Howard and Williams who can offer the max money to both. Bring on free agency, also any smaller deal will be telling that Billy King makes. For instance if Farmar is moved then we know that somethings up, I just can't for a second believe that King doesnt no whats happening, Williams has been eating lunch with him every day they are in Jersey. Williams was in the room when every major decision was being discussed. Howard mustve told us he would sign or else Billy King has balls of steel.

Next few weeks are going to be interesting

I don't know anymore. I mean, why go through all the trouble of 'wooing' dwight when he came to town this week? Why embarrass the fan base by putting pictures of the Barclay center in front of the visiting team's locker room. I don't think it's a sure thing.

As for Deron, if he isn't wearing a Nets jersey next year (Dwight or no Dwight) I will be shocked.

The rush would be what VC has been saying for the past few days. If Dwight wanted us to trade for him now, it would happen.

However, (on a side note) Fegan would only endorse a move that nets Dwight the most money.

After seeing what D-Rose just got from Adidas, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to move to a place where he'll be the top dog on the team that is in a major media market.

People are saying that if he leaves, he misses out on $30 million. That's not entirely true.

If he leaves and goes to a team that isn't in a major market, he would lose that amount of guaranteed money (including the 5th year). But if he goes to LA or NYC, he'll get a D-Rose like contract with Adidas and the question becomes "Would you rather have $30 mil or $200+ million?"

Well if you believe that I take it you view our main competition as Orlando then in free agency?

I just cant see how he doesn't end up with Williams on the Nets. I feel like our hand is strengthened if he signed as a free agent purely because we keep any asset we have and add a top 3 player in the league.

He's not an idiot, his agent isnt an idiot, signing with us in the summer makes us an proper Heat level contender for years to come. In my opinion its 10 times better for us if he hits free agency, the problem us Nets fans have is that most dont accept that we our Howards prefered choice and are used to the Nets falling flat on their face.

Im hoping he hits free agency, by the stage FA starts, we will be taking Howard around a tour of the Barclay centre to show him his future kingdom.

So we will be able to offer Howard is true non bird rights max, Dallas cant. We've got the best most expensive arena in the Nba. We have a top PG who's bird rights we own to pay him the most to partner with the best big in basketball. Plus we have picks, Lopez, Brooks, Morrow, Bogdanovic and Prokhorov the richest owner in sports.

Bring on D12!!

Was just picturing Howard being shown around the Barclays centre with videos telling Howard how big its going to be from famous Brooklynites & Jay Z, a bit like the TNT Jay Z all star weekend intro haha

You know Howard wants to be wooed and who better to do it than Jay Z and Proky.

Just saw this on the GB, don't know how reliable it is:

http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow ... 6235.story

It is the LA Times, after all, but an Orlando Sentinel writer is the source, apparently.

I think most here are in agreement with you, I was just saying as that report indicated that it was Dwight's choice to make, not ours.

I think Orlando is screwed. Totally and completely screwed. This will end in the summer with them getting Brook Lopez in a S and T type thing.

S & T's are of no benefit to anyone anymore. They are opting out of there deal so why would we give Orlando any asset if Howard was going to be a free agent?

He signs the same deal regardless if he isnt traded pre trade deadline

In fact, Dirk is already showing signs of slowing down... 17.7 ppg (.469 FG, .200 3 PT) and 5.2 rpg in 30-1 mpg this season... still a good player for his age, but some people want to think he will play at a superstar level for the next 3-4 years... yeah, sure.

Last 11 games: Dirk 25.4 pts 8.4 boards per

Andres BS: Dirk has already gone in serious decline.

My point never was to pass on Dwight in any capacity. It's just that w/o the possibility of a trade & extend what's in it for both parties to do this now?

I'm taking Dwight himself into account. Nobody wants to miss the playoffs.

This way he:

A. Makes a little run this year
B. Keeps his options open
C. Strengthens his #1 choice's assets/flexibility (this is underrated. He can point them towards a SF. So not only do we have Deron, but we then have let's say his best good friend Josh Smith. It's a wrap at that point.)
D. Dwight isn't the bad guy. He let orlando know his intentions, they didn't pull the trigger.

Guys make a move quick, my magic team are reported to make a trade for Gasol+Bynum+Calderon..By all means step up those pieces, perhaps a Marshon+Lopez+1st rounders, plus a 3rd team trade will do the trick? you guys want to keep Deron Williams, well step up that game because Dwight might be traded to La Lakers for those players i have mentioned above.

I believe Prokhorov would be adamant on not letting Dwight get traded so he could be easily baited into throwing everything for Dwight. However, if Orlando is hellbent on making the Lakers better, we can't do anything about it. Your team should've pulled the trigger with us before the season started if you wanted to rebuild.

I just got off the phone with Billy King. I told him to make a move quick, and he said okay and that he would do it asap. Thanks for the information.

LA Times is reporting a rumor from the Orlando Sentinel. One source quoted from a thousand people is still one source.

Also Howard said he would still test free agency so the lakers would be giving up there starting PF & C for possibly a rental.

Plus whats so appealing about staying with an aging Kobe?

Basically that trade adds Kobe to the magic with Nelson, Kobe, Hedo, Random starter and Howard. Id still fancy the Thunder to beat that team.

Were going to see so many random reports about possible trades, 99% are going to be smoke screens like the Knicks getting involved.

Just take it with a pinch of salt
