Gasol to Minny?

So we would get Bynum, Williams, Calderon instead? Wasn't there a rumor a couple nights ago involving Orl/LAL/Minny?

Yea there was. Apparently from the same people who called Barea to Minny before it happened or ****.

yeah pretty much lol... I had no respect for the GM of that team... I have more respect for Otis than the Raptors GM imo... also I don't like the Raptors (here's my major bias) or their fans (especially on RealGM)... I'll admit that.

I'd try to work something out along these lines. It is 1 in a million but worth a shot.

Orlando Out: Jameer, Turk, Dwight, J Rich, BBD, 2 future 1st rd picks
LAL Out: Bynum, Gasol
Indy Out: Danny Granger
Golden State Out: Monte Ellis

LAL In: Dwight, Turk, Jameer
Golden State In: Pau Gasol
Indy In: J Rich, BBD, 2 future first rd picks
Orlando In: Bynum, Granger Ellis

Orlando starting 5:
Ellis
Reddick
Granger
Anderson
Bynum

Yea there was. Apparently from the same people who called Barea to Minny before it happened or ****.

so the guy who brought up the rumor actually has a track record of being right... :o

i kind of brushed off the rumor without much thought... we might have to re-visit it on here... who were the exact players involved?

maybe it could morph into a LAL/Orl/Tor/Minny 4-team deal.

yahoo says Dwight and his agent haven't really pursued deals lately suggesting he might stay for this season.
but me thinks March Is a huge date. 25% of the league becomes available for trade.

I'm starting to fear Dwight's gonna play the good guy and "stay & see how it goes" when in reality he & Deron already decided to sign in Dallas ..

That would be terrible for us .. Keep our garbage & lose Dwight

Exactly... even if deals occur and they don't involve Orlando... we can see how every other team is shaping up and how they are positioning themselves going forward... and maybe a good opportunity (wink, wink) may present itself... who knows... this will be thread where all the madness will happen

I'm sorry but there's no way you can say the Raptors have no future so far.

2012 lottery pick
Valanciunas 19
Demar 22
Davis 22
Bayless 23
Amir Johnson 24
James Johnson 25
Bargs 26

That's a very good start.

Btw, are you guys willing to give up Reddick? We're not sure what we'll be getting back for giving up Calderon but I'm going to assume it involves at least a first round pick. Jose has been a beast lately averaging 18pts 10ast 5reb in his last five games.

on the raps deal: I think the lakers would probably send them a tpe so they can cut money, and maybe sign w. chandler to a long term deal?????

I for one do not think that orl keeps gasol for that long. And for all those who hate bynum, he will be a free agent, which means orl sheds nelson, turk, maybe bbd and jrich in one shot. This is the best scenario for a complete overhaul without relying on the draft.

Who? Bryan Colangelo? Raptors fans do not know ****.

GMs do the owner's bidding. Raptors owners want to make the maximum amount of money and their GM delivers an exquisite performance. Our owners want to win with no regards for profits, Otis fails miserably.

A package of Gasol and Bynum opens up a lot of possibilities, as long as we flip Gasol for an upgrade at PG and/or SF.

I'm loving that the 'keep Dwight' narrative is gaining steam.

If I'm Orlando and Dwight is definitely being shipped to LA, I would push for the three way with Minny.

Orlando:
Out - Howard, Turkoglu, Doo-hon, Q-Rich
In - Bynum, Williams, Beasley, Ridnour, TEs (via LAL)

Lakers:
Out - Bynum, Gasol, Ebanks, Morris
In - Howard, Turkoglu, B. Miller, Doo-hon, Q-Rich

Minny:
Out - Beasley, Williams, B. Miller, Ridnour
In - Gasol, Ebanks, Morris

If we could squeeze some picks out of the deal that would be even better. If not, you can't complain about dropping the contracts of Hedo+Doo-hon+Q and the return/capspace. Post-trade roster:

Nelson/Ridnour/Smith
J-Rich/JJ/Wafer/Liggins
Beasley/Williams
Anderson/Clark/Harper
Bynum/Davis/Orton

Not the greatest team, but additional moves would have to be made (e.g. Nelson, Ryno, J-Rich, etc) to shore up other areas.

Magic Rumor: I was told by multiple sources that Otis Smith will "aggressively" pursue Steve Nash before the trade deadline.

I'd rather have Ellis, but Nash isn't a bad consolation prize.
