Yeah, didn't look like the keeper got him at all. Maybe a nick from Gibbs, but was hard to tell from the replays whether that was even the case. Bale was looking for that the second he got his toe to the ball.

Surprising he didn't get a card out once he gave the penalty. Maybe he realised the pen was harsh as it was.

Here's what Mr. Arsenal had to say:

Cesc Fàbregas Soler
‏@cesc4official

Then they say the spanish players are the ones that we dive all the time... Crazy. I had enough. Going to sleep.

Thoroughly deserved drubbing. Even when we were up, Arsenal were better and already threatening. Way too many players looked a cross between sloppy and lackadaisical until they started getting their asses handed to them. Clearly, they needed a reality check like this.

It's a bit ironic that Cesc of all people talks about diving... given the reputation of the team he plays for.

That said, great win for Arsenal but absolutely horrible defending from Tottenham. There's no way a top team should squander a two goal lead that easily. You know you've had a nightmare game when Walcott scores twice against against you.

I hate when they have big games happening in parallel. Great winner from Giggs though, had to be him on his 900th game for the club.

Nice game by Luiz though, he had minimal threat to deal with at the back but he's likely the most composed Chelsea player with the ball at his feet.

I'm surprised to hear that, I thought Miyaichi was the one bright spot in a pretty dire Bolton side. He's done very well for them so far.

I thought he was alright. He had one great run and showed some flashes but was surrounded quickly by the defenders most of the time. He should have done better on that Drogba goal, but he'll learn. He's still better than Eagles though.

Miyachi is just not ready to be starting premier league games at this time. He needs to add some weight to his frame to not get knocked off the ball and he's just not quick like Walcott or physically developed like Ox either.

Bolton needed someone who can hold the ball since they could not commit men forward and since the other striker turned out to be dire as hell, Miyachi happened to play like the lone forward for a lot of the time. Eagles when he came on was able to force the ball into the box a bit more than Miyachi could have. He could do well as an impact player to run at defenders in the last 20 mins but not ready to be thrown into that game.

Unsurprisingly, little to no mention of Bale's dive in the media. The bias in the media is pretty blatant, Suarez, Eduardo, get vilified for diving, but nothing for him. He had a bad one against Liverpool a couple weeks ago, has been carded twice for simulation this year and not a peep from the media.

Eagles was pretty poor, imo. Miyaichi could certainly stand to put on a bit more muscle, but he is certainly fast, as fast as Walcott. Bolton struggled because their midfield was trash.
