Roy Hibbert Allstar

Post#1 » by celtspacers » Mon Feb 27, 2012 3:17 am

What a joke Hibbert is way out of his league in this game. He would have a better chance if he was in the D league allstar game. This game should show all the Pacers homers that think he deserves a Max Contract how dumb it would be to give it to him. I'm going to hear he only played a few minutes. There was a reason for that everyone else was better than him. He's to slow and mechanical. Trade him now while he has value. Could get a very good point guard for him.

Roy deserved his spot on that all star team. Yea he might not of looked great out there but that's because that's not the kind of game Roy has. He's not a player who's gonna put up any kind of big numbers in a flashy all star game. He's been holding his own when it comes to the regular season games, but you can't judge him from an all star game.

We should trade him because he takes his time and not try to impress the crowd?
Hibbert is a Great player for his position. The NBA has become so reality showish that it seems like its telling others that you should be like the flashy ones to succeed. This is obviously not true.
For example Tim Duncan. No one ever talks about him because hes not a flashy player BUT hes one of the Greats.
Im not saying Hibbert is the same level as Duncan but Hibbert IS a top 5 center.

The Allstar game is a popularity game and show, NOT a fundemental game.

plus, did you see how happy the guy was when he made his one basket? He knows he's not gonna be one to stand out in that kind of game. Roy's just enjoyin his time being recognized as an NBA all star

Bigs who aren't hyper-athletes tend not to look great in this game.

There was one moment that really showed who Roy was, though, and it was awesome.

That screen he was setting on Marc Gasol while Iggy drove for the dunk was BEAUTIFUL!

Way to be, Roy! You play All-Star games like Tim Duncan; respect.

I have to admit that was a nice looking moving screen. he would have been called for it in a real game. But thats good he did something you liked no matter if it was a foul.

Yup, he would have been called for that right after they called LeBron for travelling, Rondo for carrying, Boozer for a 10 second violation, everybody on the court for a lane violation, Howard for 3 seconds, and Wade for an offensive foul. Then we all ice skate in hell afterwords!
