Is it possible to send Joel Anthony to D-League?

Post#1 » by BronBron06 » Sun Nov 14, 2010 7:02 am

He fouls a lot
He cant boxout
He cant catch the ball properly
Suck at Help Defense
Yeah too much limitations (how much is his salary again  )

Isnt D-League the best place for him right now?

Clearly He doesnt have the fundamentals to be in a team aspiring to become CHAMPIONS
Y'all are just mad because y'all don't got swagger like Lebron has. It is a scientific fact that Bron's swagger has the power to transform an otherwise level-headed adult male into a jealous woman.

12. Where do NBA D-League players come from?

NBA Assignments: NBA teams can assign players who are rookies or in their second season to their D-League affiliate. Players can stay with the D-League team for as long as the team wishes, and be recalled back to the NBA at any time. However, a player can only be sent to the D-League a maximum of three times during the season.

15. Are NBA players allowed to rehab injuries in the D-League?

NBA players in their first or second year can rehab injuries in the NBA D-League.

Looks like it's only possible during a player's first/second season. This is his 4th (And he's already 28! So much for 'potential'), so unfortunately we can't. :(

On a related note, is there ANY way that we could possibly waive him (Even by some loophole of the rules)?

Joel is seriously 28 years old? Why didn't I know this?

We're going to have a player that is currently borderline useless (while in his 'prime' at 28 years old) on our roster when he's 33 years old, oh god.

Sal this is not in defense of Joel, as I agree he's not a starting C.

But 28 is not normally prime for a C (unless they are big and have knee problems), Joel hasn't been playing basketball that long - he started late and he has low mileage.

Whether he's really a PF or a C is another question - I'd say he's a much better fit at PF but we already have our hustle backup there.

Don't forget some people are thinking of Damps as a saviour and he's what 36/37?

I think the Heat were really trying to set Joel up as a trading chip when they resigned him. Hoping that surround him around the big 3 would make him look better than he really is. And later on being a nice trading piece to get a player who complements the 3 better. But that is back firing on them right now. He not even looked worthy to be in the league. His defense has been terrible, teams attack right at him. Hey there is joel lets post him up, hey there joel lets get in the paint he cant rebound, hey there is joel he is a highschool version of Zo lets dunk on him.

Why not send Dex there? We're not even suiting him up anyway.

Just out of sheer curiosity, who do you recommend starts at center if this sending Joel to the D-League were actually possible?
