1. Keep Dwight, try for Nash, but give up Ryno if you have to.
2. Trade Dwight, try to make the rumored Bynum, Gasol, Calderon while dumping Hedo happen.
3. Trade Dwight for the proposed Bynum, Derek Williams, ONLY if we can dump at least one bad contract, and get picks
4. Trade Dwight for Lopez, Marshon, and every 1st pick NJ has on them.

Ellis makes me meh, but your list is almost exactly where I am right now regarding Howard.

one of the largest payrolls in the league and 3 30+ perimeter players to show for it. Bring a legit baller to orlando, this is ridiculous!

The Magic are denying a rumor that they have reached a deal with the Lakers and Raptors involving Dwight Howard.

Howard, Hedo Turkoglu and Jameer Nelson would go to the Lakers, while the Magic would receive Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and possibly Jose Calderon.

Alex Martins, CEO of the Magic, confirmed to the Sentinel that the rumor is wrong.

Great summary! Simple yet succinct. A prime Nelson or Hedo would top this team off nicely, and frankly it is a bit surprising that Nelson and Hedo have seen the drop offs they have, not sure how predictable those were (maybe Hedo's demise was more predictable).

In the after game interviews they asked Howard something about wanting to take over and try and win the MVP. He answered that the "guards" could do that. "They are the ones with the ball they have to pass it to me, what do you want me to do take the ball upcort all the time." I wonder if this will make him think about wanting to be on a team with two serious top guards, ie he will never get the ball and be the 3rd option.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!

There is one thing to the whole Nash trade stuff that I haven't seen mentioned in here. Phoenix has such an appreciation for Nash that I'm sure they would accomodate a trade for him to a contender if there's at least a bit to gain for them. The only way Nash will be traded if he sits down with Phoenix management and they both agree that it's time to move on, maybe even Phoenix showing him some possible destinations.

This is one trade I was thinking of, but Phoenix would need to have a follow up deal with the Lakers signed..

Orlando in: Nash and Frye (bad contract, but could actually work out next to Dwight)
Phoenix in: Nelson, Redick, Orton 2012 first round pick

Then:

Lakers in: Nelson
Phoenix in: TPE (from the Odom trade) and Dal or LA first round pick

This way Phoenix gets 2 first round picks, cap relief and a very solid player in Redick..

I would love to get Nash!!!! I think (I don't think, I'm sure of it) that suns will ask for J-Rich in return. I can live with that, but if we can acquire Nash without giving J-Rich or Anderson, both will be deadly with Nash driving the ball. I wouldn't give Anderson for him, definitely not.

Suns are open for negotiations, this is our chance, come on Otis, make it happen. WE WANT NASH!

He stays because he wants to always be the #1 option and the main guy. In LA, he would be # 2. Same in NJ. In Dallas, he would be #3 behind Dirk and Deron. Based on that, and because he is an attention whore. I think he stays. Here is #1 always and king of the city.

Really thinking about it, Dallas makes to much sense for Deron and Dwight to join up in. Deron,Dirk and Dwight would be a perfect combination of players. Deron feeding Dirk and Dwight all game long, Dwight would get more room to operate cause of the attention Deron and Dirk get and Dirk would get open looks cause the double Dwight would get. Plus the West doesn't have as much hard teams to beat in the playoffs and Cuban is also known for giving the players everything they want so they'd be spoiled off the court as well. I think Dwight wanting to be the first option is being overblown.

ORLANDO -- Sources with knowledge of Howard's thinking say nothing has changed about his outlook. And while his wish-list of teams still includes the Nets, Lakers and Jazz, New Jersey is far and away the leader.

Though it may pain the purists, it's not just about basketball for Howard.

He wants to take his brand global, to leverage the international influence of Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov while building his brand as Brooklyn's first star.

His wandering eye is enticed not only by the Barclays Center that is set to open next season, but the businesses in the booming area around it that could afford many off-court opportunities.

He wants, as one source said, to "be Kobe Bryant, not be with Kobe Bryant." Of course, it's hardly that simple.

Im told that Dwight Howard has asked the Magic to pursue Steve Nash. Would Nash keep Howard in Orlando for at least one more year? Maybe.
