I think I'm hoping for Cousins in the 3rd.

Might have to take him in Round 2.

this board has a crazy affinity for mediocre pac-12 quarterbacks. last year it was locker, earlier this year it was foles, now osweiller...

Why do I feel like we're going to get effed-out of Luck, RG III, Tannehill, Flynn and Manning? If we don't get one of these 5, what are you left to think about this off-season where QB was our greatest need?

I think we have to go all out for:

1) Manning
2) Flynn
3) Tannehill with the 12th pick if he's there

End of story.

If none of these are possible, then I guess we have to take a shot at Cousins, or something "oatmeal" like that.

Ugh!

Well, the Colts have waived Manning, Clark, Addai, Brackett, and Bullitt. If there was any doubt that they were going all-in on a rebuild that doubt's sufficiently dead.

The Redskins just traded not one, not two, but THREE first round picks to move up all of four spots in this year's draft to likely draft RGIII. If we'd offered the same package, it wouldn't have been as enticing as Redskins since they have a much higher pick than us this year. So what would the cost have been to move up? Probably not something I would be willing to pay.

Who knows were Manning will land? There's been rumors that he just spent the day in Denver being wooed by the Broncos; the Cardinals and Dolphins are thought to be at the top of his list, and that the Redskins and Jets aren't. Many sources have claimed the Seahawks are willing to make a big push but at this point there isn't anything to say that Manning is or isn't interested. I expect we'll be edged out because...you know...Seattle.

Flynn? Probably the Dolphins' consolation prize.

And if that's the way it has to be, well, FINE. Let Manning sign in Arizona with two questionable tackles, and then we can focus on adding Mario Williams + keeping Red Bryant + drafting C. Upshaw. And then we'll knock Manning flat on his ass -- no bounty needed.

As for Tannehill? Schneider has spoken in him in glowing terms when asked. Translation: We're not drafting Tannehill. He did the same thing with Locker last year, and sure enough after the fact we find out he was way down the Seahawks board.

Cousins doesn't seem like a bad possibility.

One name I don't see mentioned alot? Russell Wilson. Sure he measured at 5'11 but he's quick as hell, and still profiles as someone who is accurate [he had a 72.8 comp% last year!] and a game manager, Here's a rather interesting tidbit:

Quarterback Russell Wilson (5-foot-11 3/8, 206 pounds) put on a show Wednesday at the University of Wisconsin’s pro day. Working out in front of all 32 teams and Seahawks QB coach Darrell Bevell, Bears coaches Jeremy Bates and Mike Tice and Packers GM Ted Thompson, Wilson threw the ball a total of 65 times and only four times did the ball hit the ground. I’m not sure exactly where he will be drafted, but I think this guy could be as high as a second-round pick.

Everyone is scared of quarterbacks who measure under 6-feet, but Wilson looked absolutely great. This guy whistles the ball. they say he only had four passes blocked at Wisconsin this past year — that’s outstanding for a short guy. His stock is rising.

So we know that [1] the guy John Schneider learned from was there, [2] our offensive co-ordinator was there, [3] for a short QB he didn't have a lot of passes knocked down. Now, what kind of line was he playing behind? Was he playing in front of smaller linemen who would be less likely to interfere with his vision?

LT: Ricky Wagner: 6'6, 320 lbs.
LG: Travis Frederick: 6'4, 330 lbs.
C: Peter Konz: 6'5, 314 lbs.
RG: Kevin Zeitler: 6'4, 314 lbs.
RT: Josh Oglesby: 6'7, 330 lbs.

Well...not really. Wisconsin's always been fond of big, talented offensive lines, and that would seem to qualify.

I think Wilson might be a likely option. He's a little short and a little light, but he's got a lot of talent. And we draft him in round #3, I won't necessarily be against it.

I really dont know about Locker. We had no realistic shot of getting him at all. I just cant believe Rob Staton's "sources" when the source basically said it was guaranteed Charlie Whitehurst was starting against the Saints in the playoffs even if Beck was healthy. If Manning/Flynn don't end up in Miami, I think we'll likely not have a chance to draft Tannehill either.

One clear advantage with so many teams panicking about their QB options is that there should be a lot of good QBs available in the mid-rounds. If you trust our FOs scouting and are willing to survive another year of Tarvaris without throwing your remote on your TV it might be worth it. Sign me up for any of the non- Weeden mid round QBs.

i mentioned wilson right after the rose bowl. he's definitely smallish, but he's got a big arm and as mentioned, i love his accuracy and foot speed. he's downright impossible to stop on 3rd & 5. if you don't seal the edge properly, he's going to scramble. he's going to hit the tight end on a short curl every time 6 yards off the line of scrimmage. and if we're going to continue to develop into a power running team, he's dynamite off play-action.

I've seen some comparisons to Seneca Wallace but I think those are way off in one big area: intelligence. Seneca always struggled to know the offense and made a lot of seemingly panicked decisions. Wilson came to Wisconsin late and learned their offense in three weeks.

Physically they may be comparable, but there's more to it than that. I'm not worried about Wilson's ability to understand an offense or sense pressure.

agreed.

russell for a 4th or 5th > rg3 for three 1sts and a 2nd. he's accurate, has a super quick release, and has a great throwing motion, which does help make up for his height a bit.

i think we all have pet projects in this draft, though. i don't like tannehill at all, and i know he's the it-guy for a lot of seattle fans. management might write off wilson simply because he's under 6'2.

Well, it sounds like the Seahawks are out of the Manning race before they even had a chance to enter it. And Arizona sounds like it might be the favorite to sign him. I think I've heard this story before. "Wow, sounds like the M's are willing to make a big push to sign Prince Fielder. Boy, if we get him that should push us past the Angels. Wait--they just signed C.J. Wilson. And Pujols. Now we need Prince just to have a chance to--oh, wait, he just signed with Detroit for all the money in the world. Someone give Kevin Millwood a call!"

I hope we can actually make a legit play for Mario Williams because seeing Seattle teams linked to high profile free agents and constantly hearing that said free agent had not a hint of interest as they sign with someone else gets old fast. That said, he'll probably sign with Dallas.

Thank God PC/JS and Jack Z know how to draft because otherwise we'd never win a damn game.

Apparently Chicago is thought to be the frontrunner, so hooray for that.
