ORLANDO -- Sources with knowledge of Howard's thinking say nothing has changed about his outlook. And while his wish-list of teams still includes the Nets, Lakers and Jazz, New Jersey is far and away the leader.

Though it may pain the purists, it's not just about basketball for Howard.

He wants to take his brand global, to leverage the international influence of Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov while building his brand as Brooklyn's first star.

His wandering eye is enticed not only by the Barclays Center that is set to open next season, but the businesses in the booming area around it that could afford many off-court opportunities.

He wants, as one source said, to "be Kobe Bryant, not be with Kobe Bryant." Of course, it's hardly that simple.

Terrible reporting. The Russian owner is going to sell the Nets if he wins the election in a couple weeks. Dwight is already the Kobe Bryant of centers.

Pretty sure the writer meant to write Mavs instead of Jazz ..

But that Alex Kennedy tweet gives me a lot more confidence for the coming weeks ..

For the right price, Nash can be had ..

Oh, and @ Otis, right price means: "NO Anderson"

Told by who? Rudolph?

Probably Kennedy's mom. I think he still lives in her basement.

I like the fact that Suns fans are saying they'd be willing to make a good deal for Nash to see him win a ring. Classy. Duhon and salary fillers for Nash.

If, in fact, you guys trade Howard. What about this trade? Being a Bucks fan, seeing if you have interest in Bogut

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7s2w6l2

Bucks, Magic and Lakers

Bucks Get: Bynum and Reddick

Lakers get: Howard, S-Jax and Nelson

Magic get: Gasol, Bogut and Udrih

Amick at SI reported in an article that the Jazz were on Dwight's list. But...

Sam Amick ‏ @sam_amick
Typo on Dwight liking Jazz (Mavs!) people. That list - as you've read 6,786 times - hasn't changed. Being fixed.

Orlando should trade Meer, Redick, Orton, and next years draft pick (top 15 protected) for nash and filler. maybe send some cash to phoenix since their owner loves that.

So you would be willing to let Howard walk at the end of the year?????I think getting Gasol and Bogut for Howard would be good. You still would be competitive next year.

If we get Nash, he'd be a great mentor for Ish, if we keep both past this season.

Nah, I'd rather have Bynum than Bogut. and yes, I'd rather let Howard walk than take that trade.

Being from Greenpoint Brooklyn, living there and frequently visiting...WTF is in Brooklyn?!?! That team is going to be the equivalent of what the Clippers have been for the last few years.

Apparently it was a TYPO on Sports Illustrated.

They have now updated the article to "Mavs" not Jazz.

I don't know if this was posted yet

Alex Kennedy‏@AlexKennedyNBAReply
