nash/jrich/jackson/anderson/dwight
this lineup, while old, COULD take miami/chicago to a 7 game seriers if we got hot and I would feel like orlando really gave it a good last run with dwight. I can't think of another guy hungrier for a title than steve nash.

5 of the top 10 offenses, and 7 of the top 20 offenses in NBA history were manned by Steve Nash; a crazy stat imo

Next two weeks are going to be brutal... the waiting, wondering, excitement and inevitable disappointment is driving me nuts.

if phoenix cares more about "brand name to put butts in seats" you'd have to think big baby would probably be the best we could offer. if we did that we'd probably need to take back channing frye would be the bad contract that makes most sense for us if we give up baby. so centered around redick bbd and filler (hopefully we could stick duhon in there)

we also apparently have a 4.6M trade exception from the bass trade. that changes some things.

you could maybe do baby and jj for nash and maybe throw in a pick. and then possibly do the trade exception for frye in a separate transaction.

big baby to fill seats jj efficient smart expiring and dump frye

I'm sure one of the sharper posters already pressed up hard against this thought, but PHX should be more willing to deal with us, seeing as how we gifted them Gortat and relieved them of Hedo.

The Magic, or at least its fans, deserve some good news on the trade front. Last time I got excited about a roster move was Skip to my Lou.

just from the comments above it seems the suns apparently care more about saving money and selling tickets. i'm not saying baby can sell tickets alone but he's more of a brand name than jameer anderson (wouldn't involve anderson in a nash trade) or redick and would probably sell more jerseys there and give nonchalant fans a name they recognize. better trades for the suns have been listed, but it doesn't seem those ideas would fly according to what suns fans saying their ownership wants. we all know smart basketball trades get overrode by dumb management/ownership

this is stupid. why would anyone feel more willing to do something based dumb now based on past trades where they won out?

if so redick duhon and pick for nash. which would be terribly dumb for them because they turn one hall of famer expiring into duhon

maybe they'd bite on something like that if we used trade exception on childress.

I thought it went without saying, but my comment was posted with virtual tongue pressed firmly in virtual cheek.

Lots of things happen at that level, of favor variety. not saying anything about PHX GM or how he does business, but not every managerial action is motivated purely by tangible gains.

also should be noted that we are staying under the luxury threshold this season. we will not take more salary in retun or use trade exceptions to add more salary.

Andrew Melnick ‏ @HowardtheDunk
I keep hearing Dwight Howard won't be traded. And there is smoke with these Nash rumors.

I still think it's a longshot because the Magic won't give up Ryan (among other reasons), but they're trying.

Doesn't look like he is involved in any trade talks right now. For now, anyway.

Hi. As someone who only saw the following three teams play against Knicks, this sounds good in my head. Please, don't ban me or call me stupid.

Step 1:
Jameer Nelson, JJ Redick, Ryan Anderson, 2nd round draft pick for Steve Nash, Channing Frye, Ronnie Price.

You get Nash, Phoenix gets out of Frye's contract.

Step 2:
Chris Duhon, Glen Davis, Hedo Turkoglu, 1st round draft pick for Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams.

You get another star perimeter player, Atlanta gets rid of Johnson's 5 year deal and Marvin who's been complaining about playing time, and a backup PG for Teague.

Nash/J-Rich/Johnson/Frye/Dwight. Stan Van Gundy gets 3pt shots, Dwight gets perimeter help. Yay?

seriously though, Nash should not be netting both JJ and Ryan at this point of his career. However, we are desperate and they are not. Nash should at least say something along the lines of: "I am not requesting a trade, but i would appreciate if if you can give me a shot at the title."

Suns GM is used to be Hedo's agent whom has a more than a business relationship with hedo. I know.

did not sound realistic to me, especially ATL trade, which we do not really need and ATL would not really do.
