Lakers are determined to acquire PG sooner rather than later

Meanwhile, back at the trading post, some deals may actually be getting close to finalization and the Lakers are in middle of them. They’re determined to acquire a point guard sooner than two weeks from now. If it’s a multi-player transaction, Pau Gasol will be sacrificed. Should the Magic change their mind about accepting Andrew Bynum for Howard (Pau’s inclusion might do it), Jameer Nelson would almost have to be part of the package unless an above-average ball-handler can be obtained elsewhere.

Lakers are actively talking which is a positive... Also keep in mind, if we haven't utlitized our Amnesty Provision that implies we haven't given up on a big trade (keep all bargaining chips) therefore keep your fingers crossed... Felton is a "perfect fit" for the Lakers and they did have allot of interest in him when he came out of North Carolina... I would be more than happy with that acquisition and it will have a big impact... Keep in mind, adding Felton would also increases our bench production, regardless of who starts, given the added depth...

PG: Felton & Blake (D Fish)
SG: KB24 & Blake
SF: Barnes & MWP (I prefer Ebanks)
PF: Gasol & Sheed
C: Bynum & Murphy

We can waive Luke Walton or Metta World Peace with the Amnesty which essentially allows us to avoid any additional luxury tax penalties... Keep in mind, Felton’s contract expires at the end of the year therefore we have flexibility... Keep your fingers crossed, as we need some help this year... The only other deal I like is Pau for Foyle & Scola as it complements our roster..

PG: Lowry & Blake
SG: KB24 & Blake
SF: Barnes & MWP (I prefer Ebanks)
PF: Scola & Sheed
C: Bynum & Murphy

Pau is the best player in that trade but Lowry is average 16 pts & 8 dimes.... He is a legit 6’3” and plays defense, can shoot and makes plays... Scola is averaging 15 points & 6 boards and will complement Bynum better than Pau and has a mid range shot and a mean streak... We can do some damage if either of the aforementioned trades materialize...

You forgot the one where we get Rondo, which seems more likely than Houston trading us Lowry. I'd rather Lowry though, but I don't see it.

Can only amnesty players in the offseason.

Also,

Oh really Vescey? Lakers are looking for a PG? And Bynum and Pau can be traded?

Thanks for the update. Here I was thinking that Fisher and Blake are good enough.

Rondo is a sexy trade if we are able to get Howard for Bynum without Gasol with the deal.

Well, Vescey is equalized to the washed up relevancy of Vince Carter for the journalist analogy with the NBA players. He's trying like Vince is with some baseline dunks. If the trade goes with what he suggest with Jammer/Howard with the scarification of Pau Gasol then he just performed a baseline dunk. I really think Lakers would benefit better with Rondo trade if Howard trade doesn't work out. If Boston is willing, really. Gasol brought us two rings, but he seem to get to the point that he passed his prime and he isn't automatic all star as he used to be. To acquire 26 years old Rondo for past prime Gasol for the future purpose is a great trade to me. Kobe will make him a better player and his D is what will make us forget what we have suffered with Fisher's. Once Rondo get his jumpers going then we have a steal. I hate Rondo, but will love to learn to love him. Mitch, do it.

I wouldn't do a deal for Rondo involving Gasol. Rondo can't hit a jumper and won't take any pressure off Kobe. Teams will clog the middle on our big men. Better off looking in another direction.

I'm glad Howard wants to leave because it makes the ridiculous Bynum for Howard trade plausible. Nothing against Bynum, he would have some an enormous amount of upside if he was healthy.

I am still somewhat "torn" on the Rondo deal because of his limitations shooting the ball but could get onboard given his age and contract (decent) although Felton & Gasol is better than Rondo... I understand the salary ramifications... Sometimes the best trade is no trade at all. It I do feel we need to "shake" things up a little bit & obviously need guard help...

what about

Lakers Trade - Blake + Ebanks + TPE + Lakers 1st

Nuggets Trade - Andre Miller + Corey Brewer

Lakers get a solid defender and a pass first PG, more importantly role players that are vets and can win

Andre Miller - Fisher - Goudelock
Kobe - Goudelock
Brewer - Barnes - MWP
Gasol - Murphy
Bynum - Sheed

Miller is 35. If we are going to have a old pg. I rather stay with fisher.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
