Bogut would help us defensively. I strongly believe that.
And Josh would really help MIL. They'd obtain a fan favorite who'd get them on ESPN on a much more regular basis. He'd immediately be their best low post scorer. He would greatly speed up their offense, especially in transition. Having Josh might even help Sanders, who - I think - looks more comfortable inside. He could play Center for them. Josh Smith/Sanders is better than Gooden/Bogut.
I keep coming back to this trade because it makes so much sense for both teams.

Josh Smith has been on record with his dislike for the city. On top of that, Smith for Bogut is a vet for vet move for us, meaning it would be considered a "win now" move. We would win more with Bogut then Smith even though I believe Smith is a good player. Honestly, I don't see a good trade between the two teams for Bogut.

Josh Smith is 26 years old. That makes him a "win now" AND a "win later" prospect.
He and Jennings and Sanders would make a good start to a rebuild. Your team would still suck enough to be in the lottery, at least for this upcoming draft, and probably for the next. Smith/Jennings/Sanders/lottery pick/lottery pick is a great chance to have a good team for the future - in just 1 and a half years. What are you expecting? That the only way to rebuild is to dump EVERYONE on your team and start over? We did that. It took 7 years ... and it comes with no guarantee that your draft picks will pan out.
If you rebuild MY way, you'll be trying to strike gold, in the draft, with the 2 easiest positions to draft: SF and SG. Get good players - or maybe get lucky with a star Center - and you'll have a great team ... again, in 1 and a half years.

Re: Bucks Open to Trading Andrew Bogut?
MIL can pay him more than anybody. Plus, there, he can be a star. I'm thinking that he'll care about those 2 things more than anything else.
Maybe he'll value the lights of a big city more. Maybe he'll want to win a championship with a buddy (or 3) somewhere else. If those are true, he'll leave. I think he'd rather have the money and to be "the man."
Thing is, Josh Smith, alone, is not going to keep MIL out of the lottery. Either way, they'll be able to tank.

Re: Bucks Open to Trading Andrew Bogut?
The whole most amount of money thing is debatable as we've seen from numerous Dwight discussions then there is whether or not Milwaukee would want to make the same dumb mistake of overpaying non star talent just to stay because the whole "most amount of money" thing only comes into play once you are discussing MAXing a player........
There is also zero reason that he could become a star in Milwaukee yet never achieved that in Atlanta with a better market and roster.
He's already on record calling the place boring so it all leads to more reasons for him to leave as an unrestricted free agent rather than to stick around for a rebuilding project.

I think the better the roster, the WORSE Smith does. He doesn't do well with competition for the ball. Without Horford, Smith's shots went up a bit and his rebounds went up almost 2/game. In the little amount of time that Johnson was out, Smith became "the man." His scoring went up even more, his rebounds went up, his steals/blocks/assists - even his FT% and 3pt shooting % went up during that time. His line for Feb. (Joe's down time) is 17.3pts., 10.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.3 blocks and 2.0 steals per game. ALL of those numbers are better than when Horford and Joe are playing, or, in Joe's case, playing healthy. What's more, those are really good numbers. If they improve even a little bit more on a MIL team without much competition to Smith, he'll average enough to deserve a major salary.
We're talking about a MIL team with only Jennings as competition for Smith.

"the better the roster, the WORSE Smith does" false.
Thats BS. With no Joe to take pressure off of him he has been worse and even admitted as much in a loss.
Smith isnt a 1st option. And he's most likely to take off and win as a 3rd star before his window closes than stay and rebuild in Milwaukee pining for individual glory.

Re: Bucks Open to Trading Andrew Bogut?
hey guys, a Bogut/Horford tandem would make for one of the most unbelievable strong front courts in the league, if not the strongest. Whoever says the opposite is taking the wrong meds. Of course, speaking of a healthy Bogut.
Now, question is: which Bogut may you get? Personally, I liked him a lot, but right now I think the guy is damaged goods and probably 1 injury short of a career ending, no to mention his usual migraines. This being said, for a team looking to try a run, Bogut would be amazing

If Bogut didn't just fracture his foot and we're just migraines or something sure. But he's a brittle, unlucky 7 footer now.
Gearon is in love with the numbers Smith puts up & Horford has yet to dominate so many facets of the game in the regular season or playoffs.

17.3pts., 10.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.3 blocks and 2.0 steals for Feb. while Horford's been out and Joe hurt. Are you arguing we have a BETTER roster without Horford and Joe? I may be a homer, but those numbers look mighty good to me.

I guess you're saying we lost more than we won. Or maybe you're referring to his efficiency. My point was he produces better numbers, not that he leads the team to more victories or plays better basketball.
