Sam Amico: Michael Beasley to Celtics "close"?

Post#1 » by Tai » Wed Feb 29, 2012 10:17 pm

http://www.celticslife.com/2012/02/amic ... rumor.html

From his article:

Allen’s name has also been mentioned in trade rumors. And the scuttlebutt before Tuesday’s game was that the Celtics might be looking to make a deal that involves sending veteran center Jermaine O’Neal to Minnesota and landing young forward Michael Beasley in return.

And from his chat:

Comment From Steve
Will Beasley end up being a Laker?

1:05 Sam Amico:
I could definitely see that. But I think he'll end up with the (gasp) Celtics. Sounds like that deal is close.

Links to both should be in the link I posted.

Oh, and just for fun, I'll say that free agents signed this season can be traded in less than 7 hours as of this post.

Why would the Wolves even consider JO for Beasley? His trade value has gone down, but come on now.

looks like they are looking for a first rounder and are fine with taking oneal and some filler. although i will say amico is not in the leage of insider of woj, amick, stein.

That trade makes absolutely no sense for the Wolves. JO blows.

This better be it. Gets the Wolves out of Darko's last year and finally gets us some vets.

Eh, he writes for Fox Sports + Fox Sports Ohio. Better than most.

Seems like there should be more to the deal, wolves are better if they just let him expire.

Its a good move for Boston(although I can't stand Beasley and think he's overhyped) but the move for the Wolves makes no sense to me at all. JO is old and washed up, why give away Beasley for that?

Haha were not in the position to be picky when/if your able to trade a injured scrub like JO for a player with a lot of potential like Beasley.

I actually don't think his overhyped its just that he didn't develop well but if you look on his game, he just needs to be motivated and little bit develop and he can live up to the expectations
