If Dwight commits, then agreed. Otherwise, I say ship Dwight and rebuild.

Well if we get Ellis... and Dwight is still moronically not committing (which would be baffling)... then we ship Dwight out, and hey!... at least we now have Ellis... and maybe Bynum or Lopez, Brooks, pick in return... depending on which deal we pull... not bad

As I understand it, there's no way the Magic make a trade for a guy to keep Dwight if Dwight hasn't already approved the deal before it is finalized.

So this legwork either is (a) after Dwight has told them go get Ellis and I will not opt out, or
(b) prework on a deal to get an agreement in principle, that can then be finalized pending a commitment from Dwight.

But trading away a young big in Ryno for Ellis if Dwight has not signed on the deal would be foolish, and I don't think that's how this will go down. Just my opinion.

Ryno will have to be part of this deal. I'm going to hate see him leave, but at the same time I'll be looking forward to Harper getting some important NBA minutes.

sam amick is on the level of broussard and stein. he is good. its common sense too. why help the magic when you want howard? unless a 3 team deal can deliver them an elite big its unlikely

If Dwight would take his option for next year it'd help a ton.

Why would we do that?

Exactly, just keep both and cut Duhon out of the rotation all together if possible.

I mentioned a while back in this thread... there was a news item or quote from late December or early January where it was confirmed that one of the guys that Dwight wanted was Monta Ellis (along with Josh Smith, Iggy, SJax, etc... the usual names). So I think if this deal goes down, Dwight is in the "know" and approved of it

If we trade both JJ and Ryan and our only reasonable return in Ellis I will be sad, of course if Dwight stays if the before mentioned trade happens then as much as I'll miss Ryan and JJ it's worth it.

For the record, I do not think Otis can pull this off. I would be ecstatic if he proves me wrong but rarely does.

we can not have a jameer/monta backcourt. no mam, we can not have that.

either monta starts at 1 and jameer comes off the bench a la the jet or no soup for you.

A Warriors beat writer shot this down saying they won't trade us Ellis unless they get Dwight.

Ellis has and still is a longshot IMO. There just isn't much out there for us to improve with Dwight.

oh yeah same here... but I'm setting myself for disappointment lol... I'm living in the moment of this "news"... it's been so long since we've heard something like this... it took us 12 parts to get something mentioned worthwhile ... so F it... I'm riding this storm all the way
