Wolves have the assets for Ellis?

Post#1 » by trevor0333 » Thu Mar 1, 2012 5:46 pm

If Ellis is actually being shopped to the Magic to pair with Dwight, what the H does Orlando have to offer that the Wolves can't beat?

Do the Wolves have the Assets to acquire Ellis? They have 3 1st rounders but all are likely to be lower end picks. Without giving up Williams/Love/Rubio/Pek can they make a deal better than Orlando can offer. I'd offer Beasley/Webster & all 3 1st's for Ellis myself. He's the perfect outside scorer this team needs.

We have the assets, but what does GS want is the question. They have curry/thompson/wright/lee/udoh as a solid group, and then biedrins/rush too.

If they are just looking for salary relief then maybe they'd want martell/miller and beasley. Monta isn't an ideal fit, but he'd be an upgrade for sure.

Takes two to Tango ... and we don't want to dance with Ellis. Final.

ellis is there best player, there not looking for cap relief. Ellis can fill it up I'd love to have him but its a pipe dream. Steph curry and David Lee, why would they be looking to trade there best player when they have a good core.

i'd like the Wolves to swoop in and get Reddick. The Warriors don't have much use for him with Curry and Klay.

Warriors take Beasley, we take Reddick.

or Warriors take Johnson + Tolliver/Randolph, we take Reddick.

I strongly support this concept.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

IMO he's a bad fit with Curry. I would trade one of the 2 if I was GS too.

I can't see what Orlando has that they would want though.

JJ spotting up with passes from Rubio!?

Theyd be championship contenders!

5.Pek/Darko/Tolliver
4.Love/Williams/Randolph
3.Wes/Webster
2.Redick/Barea/Ellington
1.Rubio/Luke

That's a 7-8 seed in the West... Redick is a spot up shooter, nothing more, nothing less. He's not worth his contract. He thrives because of Howard and Stan Van Gundy's offense revolves around shooting threes. In Minnesota, he'd likely be like a rich man's ellington.

Disagree. He has decent ball handling and passing abilities and good court awareness. Also, he's going to get a lot more open looks with Rubio passing him the ball.

But championship... ah, not so much.

Yeah... He's going to get MORE open looks in Minnesota than he does in Orlando where teams double Dwight in the post practically every possession. That makes sense.

I´m afraid we wouldn´t....

But if we accept to put toguether my two favorite players on the same team and leave the roster something like:

5.P.Gasol/Pek/Miller
4.Love/P.Gasol
3.Wes/Webster
2.Redick/Barea/Ellington
1.Rubio/Barea

Then, in my opinion we are contenders for the next three years.

This.

Maybe if Pek was playing like he did for a while there or Love's efficiency wasn't in the toilet recently, but as it stands there's no logical reason why any of our wing players would be getting a ton of open looks, especially if it were Reddick, a known 3 pt shooter.

If the Magic offer Ryan Anderson, we can't beat that without including one of our 4 core guys.
