Re: Atl/ Jazz/ Suns
This trade makes very little sense to me because Steve Nash probably walks at the end of the season. It's going to take time for Steve Nash and Al Jefferson to vibe with the rest of the team and considering I dislike our chances to succeed with the current NBA schedule.
Utah declines. They acquire Horford for Jefferson and Millsap, which makes no sense to me, they give up a first, and they take on Marvin's contract.

first Utah fans like this trade. 2nd this team, after my proposed trade, is just plan flat out more fundamentally sound than the hawks current roster. and so what if we don't win it all after the trade. at least we would compete at a higher level. one thing I can most definitely say.......... we will not win anything with this current team. so I say make some chances and at least give us fans the impression that the front office wants to win.

UTA gives Milsap and a 1st to get rid of Jefferson and replace him with Horford. If they like this, it says a lot about how they look at both Horford and Jefferson.
Jefferson is not going to help us, EXCEPT on paper. Who cares about the numbers Jefferson might post when HE needs the ball, Joe needs the ball and Josh needs the ball? Horford gets his numbers on a team where Joe and Josh are determined to get every shot they can. That just tells us how good Horford is, both in talent and personality. Jefferson might destroy us and almost certainly would not be a upgrade over Horford.

This trade is pretty worthless. Please move this worthless mess to where it should be also. Marvin and Kirk for Al Jefferson.

Toronto is trying to clear money to sign Wilson Chandler (RFA). Instead of them pursing him, I think Sund should contact Toronto to see if Joe Johnson interest them, because it's not like they're going to lure any top name free agents. Would Toronto be interested in discussing a trade?

For Joe? Hell no but we can offer them the exact same SF (actually better in many degrees) in Marvin Williams if they feel so strongly about burning money on mediocre forwards.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread
4-way deal
Lakers get:
Josh Smith
Michael Beasley
Kirk Hinrich
Hawks get:
Pau Gasol
Luke Ridnour
Anthony Randolph
Timberwolves get:
Chris Kaman
Lakers' first
(Lamar Odom's trade exception to help the Lakers afford Beasley)
Hornets get
Hawks' first
The Lakers get more athletic, improve at PG and SF and arguably at PF seeing as they already have a true center. This makes them better now and it gives them more financially flexibility going forward.
The Hawks get the true center that they have needed for a long time. And he can play PF until Horford returns.
The Timberwolves get the true center that they have been looking for without having to give up Love or Rubio and they get an extra draft pick.
The Hornets get a draft pick in exchange for Kaman, probably the best they can hope for.
New Hawks rotation when everyone is healthy:
PF Horford/Randolph/Mohammed
SF Williams/Radmonavic/Stackhouse
C Gasol/Pachulia/Collins (Dampier until Horford returns as Gasol will play PF until then)
SG Johnson/McGrady/Green
PG Teague/Ridnour/Pargo
This seems like a very strong, deep rotation. This is the best I think we can do with the Detroit model. It just might work. And it makes sense for all teams involved. I would make this move if I were the Lakers, the T'Wolves, or the Hornets.

I personally think Teague is worthless of the bench so I would add him honestly to sweeten the pot. We get better at the point both offensively and defensively, he has good chemistry with Josh Smith as they played in Highschool together, Joe would benifit from a drive and kick point that he actually can't bitch at for going to the rim, Garnett could actually man the C position for us as he basically woudl do for Boston alot of the times, He is a stretch C that would clear up room for Josh down low.
We would be HURTING at the SF position though both defensively and offensively, but when you would have a team of Rondo, Joe, Josh, and Garnett that is just MONSTER defense from the starting unit.
I don't think it would happen though because Garnett is 21 million expiring and...well...you could haul in alot of players freeing up that kinda cash.

I actually had the playoff style big lineup in mind so we dont worry about the SFs and dont wear out Garnett. With Garnett's old age you don't punish his body like that. You Let Pachulia do the grunt work against starters and the big lineup beats up people and holds them to a low score like the 04 Pistons.
Rondo ~ Billups
Joe Johnson> Rip Hamilton
Josh Smith> Tayshaun Prince
Garnett > Rasheed Wallace
Pachulia < Ben Wallace
Then you can go small later for some bench 3 pt daggers.
Interesting #s:
PTS/G: 90.1 (24th of 29) ▪ Opp PTS/G: 84.3 (2nd of 29) [04 Pistons]
▪ Pace: 87.9 (24th of 29)
PTS/G: 93.4 (21st of 30) ▪ Opp PTS/G: 91.6 (7th of 30) [12 Hawks]
▪ Pace: 89.9 (21st of 30)
PTS/G: 103.7 (1st of 30) ▪ Opp PTS/G: 94.4 (14th of 30) [12 Heat]
▪ Pace: 92.9 (7th of 30)
We're slowly becoming a more defensive oriented team but not by choice. LD wants to go small and force turnovers and we're losing scorers (Jamal).
Adding Garnett and Rondo to Joe,Josh and Zaza would solidify the identity as a Pistons type playoff style defense team.

So Josh Smith is running off to Orlando to form a "super team" in a year so let's trade every player not named Joe Johnson before that. Awesome rebuilding plan.
