I'd love to have Rondo. That would be huge. A young PG to grow w/ Dwight.

Doubt it would ever happen though.

Imagine the looks he would get out 3pt shooters and more importantly Dwight down in the paint.

you dont have to belive
numbers say you are wrong

Gortat is putting same numbers without Nash (Steve was injured this and last year also)check his games without Nash
sure he is getting him better ...but even without Nash
Gortat is 16pts -10 reb guy

Just saw the piece about acquiring both Monta and DLee. Regardless of if you're a Monta fan or not, you can't front a deal that nets us both of those guys. That would be a godsend. Especially if they take Jameer.

Hmm I wonder what the Heat are doing here?

Alston-esque picture, but then again, he led us to finals.

Alston didn't LEAD us anywhere, he was just along for the ride. He was almost a detriment.

Rondo can't shoot, but whatever. Everyone else on this team loves to do nothing more than shoot the three...a PG like help I think would really change the look of this team, in a good way.

But there's no way we get him...not when they've been asking for Gasol and Curry for him. We can't offer anything to their standards

It would be a better version of every trade we've made lately: acquiring big/long-term contracts, focusing solely on the present and treating the future with nothing but complete disregard.

It's great if Dwight hangs around, but if he leaves, it literally bends us over and screws us. Taking on those two guys, without Dwight, would kill any hopes of rebuilding. Even if he stays, we'd be stuck with nothing but the MLE forever...

I'm having trouble following this thread after stepping away from it for a couple of days. Is there anything that seems to really have legs, or is this 40 pages of nothing?

True, but if Dwight stays, that team is legit.

Kind of surprised we aren't being mentioned as a possible trade partner with the Cavs. We could use Sessions and they could use Redick.

If the Lee portion is true, what do we do with Glen? Paying Davis $6M & Lee $12-15M (WTF GSW?) adds up to roughly $20M/yr just for our PF position; NOT GONNA HAPPEN. And with the latest reports about Davis bumping heads with Stan, I wouldn't be surprised if he's on his way out. Questions are: to where and for who is he traded?

I think that's a backup plan for us. we're trying to go for stars first, and, if we can't do that we might look at Sessions.

Well, Lee and Ellis arent untradeble players too, Lee puts 20/10 and Ellis 22/5, maybe we would have to trade them for less than we paid, but we can get some expiring + picks for them, IMO.

+1 exactly... that deal is MONEY compared to anything else out there... you get Ellis (star) and Lee (borderline star) to pair up with Dwight... you take it, and roll with it into the playoffs... and Ellis is a guy that will make Dwight stay imo.

Hearing inside info regarding Dwight meeting w/ Otis Smith this week to make some major moves to bring Monte Ellis and David Lee to Orlando.

very interesting.

the biggest thing you can offer PHX right now is relief from Childress, Frye and Warrick's deals.

PHX
in: Nelson + JJ + Anderson + TPE

MIL
in: Childress + Q

ORL
in: Nash + Jackson + Frye + Warrick

Dwight/Frye
BBD/Warrick
Hedo/Clark
JRich/Jackson
Nash/Duhon

now... taking on Frye and Warrick, along with BBD, JRich and Duhon, leaves our team with $25M committed to cap after next summer, so even if Dwight opts in for a final year, we still won't be in a better position to add some via free agency in 2013. we'd have to find a way to move a couple of those guys at least, if we want to find a way to sign another max guy along with Dwight's $20M deal from 2013 onwards.

BUT, i think that team has enough veteran savvy to make a strong run this season, and maybe next season. we'll probably get outgunned by the athleticism of the Heat, but hopefully we can make a deep push.

Orl. gets Nash, Childress,Frye and Dudley
Pho. gets Turk., Nelson, J. Rich and Q. Rich

What does everybody think? Could this be enough to keep Dwight?

I highly doubt Pho wants Turk and Jrich back.
