I think that's a backup plan for us. we're trying to go for stars first, and, if we can't do that we might look at Sessions.

Yeah, that could be. I'm just trying to think of some smaller deals that will help the current team and not put us in a bind even if Dwight leaves. Another on I thought of was a Magic and Timberwolves trade. JRich & Duhon for Beasley & Ridnour.

Wolves get a SG that they desperately need and still have a backup PG for Rubio.

Magic upgrade the bench and Ridnour could even replace Jameer in the starting lineup.

Well, good luck finding anybody else willing to take on Childress and Frye, and even Dudley is a little high(though I like his versatility as a player). We could sweeten the deal by throwing in Liggins and/or draft picks(Orl. normally doesn't draft wortha damn anyway unless its handed to them on a silver platter-aka Howard).

I'd do the second deal just to get rid of Duhon.

My proposal for Nash
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7l8f474

Lakers get Nelson for the Odom TPE
Magic Get Dudley and Nash
Suns get, JJ, First, Bass TPE.

Basically to get Nash we take on Dudley and his long term deal, we can then move Hedo for Sjax, and have Dudley to split mins with him

Howard
Anderson/Davis
Sjax/Dudley
Jrich/Liggins
Nash/Duhon

Lakers get their PG who can shoot but we may need to take some money from the lakers
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Jarrod N Rudolph ‏ @MisterRudolph
Nothing new on Monta Ellis. But I think it's safe to say the Magic aren't looking to trade Dwight. The next few days should be interesting

This trade could potentially drag out until the 15th....

For Nash, I don't want to give them Ryan AND take back their bad contracts. That's too much for a 38 yo Nash. We'll be screw if (good chance) Dwight leaves over the summer. Also, trading our draft picks is a no no because of the uncertainty of this team.

im with you, monta is what we need in the playoffs, but people will talk about how efficient ryan is and hes a legit #2 option and a star..

Meh anyone feel like sticking to possible real options? Stephen Jackson,Paul Pierce,Andre Miller, Al Jefferson... If we do make a move those are the kind of guys I could see coming here. And remember Otis moves are always out of left field.

we'll be screwed either way if dwight leaves. if ryan stays and dwight leaves, ryan's value decreases because he can't create for himself at all. if ellis is here and dwight leaves, at least we can rebuild around ellis.

now imagine ellis bringing the ball up the court instead of jameer, we wouldnt have to deal with 2 seconds left on the shotclock hedo fadeaways because jameer takes 10 seconds to bring the ball up the court. jameer slows the game down, and always gets the ball to dwight too late in the possession

did something happen on the Nash front that I missed? There's no way PHX is trading him. Why do you guys think the Monta talks opened right after it got re-reported Nash wouldn't ask for a trade?

I love how people always complain how we always bring in aging players with little left in the tank and never a young player in their prime. Then the second we try to bring in a young player in his prime (Monta), People start talking about bringing in a aging player with little left in the tank (Nash although he's in great shape for his age, but c'mon he's 38 and still can't play defense) to the team. What is it that we want people?
