what the hell is up with the Hawks' free throws.

its the second half of the season and the free throws are not getting any better

Management, Coaches, and Players need to start taking some drastic steps now to fix this problem now.

Joe should be hitting 90%, Teague should be hitting 80%, Zaza and Josh keep crying for fouls on every call and beg to get on the line, they should be hitting 77%. Marvin has been okay, but what is up with TMac, for a guy who use to be a scoring champ and made a living off the line, he is horrible at free throws now. TMac should be hitting 95% because it doesn't require athleticism, and 90% of his moves are geared to drawing fouls.

Dude Mark Price isn't even part of our organization anymore. Joe and Jeff did not miss a single FT combined last night. It was totally Josh and T-Mac who missed 7 of the 10 FT's missed. There is a common denominator to bad play last night and it's name is Josh Smith.

^ nah, Josh was fine, i watched the game and Josh was just taking alot of bailout shots because the rest of the team was putting him in a bad position. it was Joe and Zaza who were missing open layups.

Joe should be doing better, Teague has been bad the past few games, but their is no excuse for Hinrich and TMac not to be shooting 90%.

Hawks need to do something like they did a few years ago and get a guy like Price to re-focus the team on free throws

Mark Price is currently working his Magic with Dwight Howard. Apparently, is that doesn't work we're said to be in discussions about brining in Shaq or Ben Wallace to see if they can give Dwight some pointers.

Typical Josh bootlickers just uninformed and silly beyond approach. First you make this silly thread about a guy that does not even work for organization and has not worked for it in multiple years then you claim that Josh was taking bailout shots last night. What a joke. Josh was taking his same bad shots last night as always.

dude, you just have a hard on for Jeff Teague, anytime anyone critics Teague in a not so positive manner you result to name calling and labeling them Josh lovers.... maybe we just see Josh is the only one who plays hard every single game, or most games anyway. not saying he plays well every game but it is clear that he wants to win. not so clear that JJ, Teague, Marvin, or even Horford (see his play in last years playoffs) plays to win every game. Is Josh the most skilled player on this team? not even close. JJ is then T-mac then Teague are. but skill won't win games if you don't give the effort. Teague and JJ do not bring the effort evey game period. you Teague apologist.

Some black guy wearing a headband must have kicked his azz or something

Look at the plus/minus. Look at Marvin then look at Josh. DESPITE shooting 5 for 20. Look at Josh's +/-. Then look at Marvin.

Ignore him myrak. He's deluded. Maybe one day this team will play big lineup. Until then we'll keep bashing on Josh for not dominating bigger players in the post area.

Singular game +/- does not prove a damn thing because it's a stat that has such little bearing in small sample sizes. Anyone trying to utilize it to excuse away a game is grasping at thin straws.

Code: Select all

Player   Min   Net
 Smith   70%   +2.1
 Williams   45%   -7.1

Yeah pairing Josh Smith and Marvin Williams is a bad idea. Not really news.

Got the tap dance shoes laced up tight I see.

Ruhiel: Look Josh did good despite having the worst shooting percentage and highest volume than any other Hawk

Mace: +/- can't be utilized properly for individual games

Ruhiel: disregard what I said before, look at the season +/- as proof of my original statement regarding that individual game.

This guy... What exactly did Marvin do last night that make you think he was a positive?

-set some screens
- passed to Josh
- passed to Joe
- passed to Jeff
- stood in the corner

+ missed layups but got a couple offensive rebounds
this is sad. Its a regular theme with him. No need to tap dance, In 41 minutes he basically stood in a corner.

What you are attempting to do is just scapegoating, the tried and true go to maneuver of all Josh Smith apologists. Josh Smith shoots 25% on 20 shots? Blame Marvin! My whipping boy Al Horford isn't playing so I need to go down the list of people I can blame for Josh single handedly throwing a game because no blame can ever lay at his gentle feet.
