No he doesn't. He's not Einstien out there, but don't even imply that Randolph and Webster are in the same category smarts-wise.
Randolph brings things to the table that NONE of our other bigs do.
Stupidity, mostly.
Look at Love, Pek, Darko, Miller, Tolliver...no one would call any one of those guys athletic.
So they can't jump as high, big deal? I imagine that's more damning for Randolph, since most if not all of those guys are more productive despite having less physical gifts.
Randolph is a freak athlete with naturaly basketball skill and talents.
Ok, now you're just being silly.
With that said, I only want him on the court when Rubio is out there. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time earlier in the season with Ricky on the court with him.
That's because Ricky makes everyone look better. Any chump can run up and down the court, hang around the baseline for dump offs and catch lobs. He doesn't do anything special in that regard and he kills the team with turnovers and weak defence when he's in, so he's a net negative anyway.
He makes big-time hustle plays and has too much upside to be rotting on the bench game after game in my opinion.
He makes one hustle play a week, if he's lucky, and that's all it really seems to be; luck. Him running around without a clue is always bound to pay off sometime.
I give Adelman credit for turning the ship around so fast, but my biggest complaint with him all season has been some of his rotations. I wish AR would get some more playing time. Love and Pek are going to be dead tired a month before the season ends if they keep playing as much as they have been. With talented players on the bench like AR and D-Will, they shouldn't have to play 40+ mpg.
And that says far more about Williams and Randolph than Adelman. If they were earning minutes, they would have them. But we (finally) have a coach who doesn't just hand minutes to players, and it's showing. If you don't perform, you don't play. Randolph doesn't perform so he doesn't play.
I don't understand why people have beef with Adelman over this. I doubt he's trying to wear out his best players on purpose, it's just that he plays to win and nobody is giving him another choice.
But I trust Adelman. We don't see what goes on during practice or anything of that sort. There may be other contributing factors why AR never plays anymore.
Honestly, we don't even need to know what's going on in practice. All we need to do is sit and watch Randolph make bone headed play after bone headed play to see why he's not playing.
