I think it's a blight on society.
How unimportant must people feel to have to continually update their own Twitter feed in order to make them feel like they have a glimmer of importance in the hope that someone cares enough to read their tweet to find out they just bought a pair of shoes or got a hair cut or took a dump.
Furthermore, I find the interface very messy and laborious.
End of the day, sometimes too much information is a dangerous thing - and Twitter is a vessel that provides too much (mostly needless) information.
All IMO of course.

You could say the exact same with Facebook and all the pointless status updates.
Aren't you a Facebook user?
I find twitter is less pointless than Facebook as if you select the right people to follow you only get informative tweets from sports writers and teams etc (or nice twitpics from certain females that you might like to cyberstalk

Its getting bigger and its here to stay as its one of the quickest/effective ways to get media out to people.

I am, but the book of faces serves a much greater purpose. For example I use it to stay in touch with family and friends back home. It's a great portal to share pics and videos and even instant message.
I personally don't update my status every 5 mins like some, because that p*sses me off (I love my mates but I don't care if they burnt the toast that morning or not - I'd rather see pics of their kids).
Not only that but Facebook is more a social tool than a media tool like Twitter is. I don't like the way the media outlets can tweet things without any editing or verification. It means there is a whole lot of bogus info out there and I find that frustrating. Formally if Sportscentre wanted to run with a story they would have to research it, verify it, put it through editing and then air it on the TV. Now with Twitter being such a free for all any tool with a cpu and a Twitter account can post what ever they want without any editing and it's taken as gospel.
For example, Chad Ford could tweet right now that Wade and LBJ are lovers and have come out and bam - it's out there. There is no filter on Twitter which dirties the whole thing.
Plus the interface of Facebook is much more user friendly.

That sums it up perfectly and I know what you mean about the sharing of pics and videos etc
For a lot of my friends its the only I can keep in touch and share pics of family etc

Re: twitter?
I don't like the cluttered nature of Twitter's UI
I don't like that people need to constantly update what they're doing. "Brushing my teeth. Out of the shower. Class then gym. Taking a poop." Meh. It basically takes the status function of Facebook and eliminates everything else which is redundant when Facebook is way more powerful.
I don't like text talk. I know you only have 140 characters, I know you're lazy, and I know you couldn't spell anyway, but "Dam bb dat new pik is so sexy" is just... bad
And I especially don't like the whole, "Psh she only has 3,000 followers, you know she's not popular!" "Follow me and I'll follow back @ISmellBad" It's an indication of how shallow people are these days.
I'm sure it's here to stay, but if I want news, I'll read an article. "Orl has reached out to G State bout trading for Monte Ellis." just doesn't get the job done, Chris Broussard. I expect a higher level of journalism from a "professional"
