Backup PG
I read on another forum about the idea of trading for either Ramon Sessions or Kirk Hinrich.
Suggestion was to trade Cole Aldrich and maybe Royal Ivey.
As much as I like Reggie Jackson's development so far, I just dont see him being our backup PG in the playoffs when we are making a run for the championship.
The role of a backup PG is too important and we will be missing Eric Maynor a lot...if we dont get another PG soon.
I would love to have either Ramon or Kirk. Although giving up Cole Aldrich would be a hard decision and we might even regret it in a few years, but if we want to win this year, then we need a solid reliable backup PG.

Re: Backup PG
Honestly I think Harden should be the back up PG. He has a nasty handle and he is very good in the pick and roll. I think he is a very capable passer and he can score the ball too.
I completely understand your point of the back up PG duties but I think Harden can fill that roll.
Plus his size defensively with Thabo could really be fits for opposing teams back courts at times too.
But again I think James should get more touches anyway and this is a great way to get the ball in his hands more.

Not a bad idea at all, but you know how Coach Brooks is with his rotations...he's not going to play Harden at PG.

Sam Presti isn't one to make a decision based just on this year. I wouldn't bank on a move like this. The core is too young to be trading talent away to try to win now.

Any news on Maynor's recovery?

Tibor Pleiss

Here is his draftexpress stat page.

I'm not quite sure he is as good as Aldrich but how good is Aldrich on the bench? I'm betting if they both sit on the bench for 48 minutes a game their stats will look almost identical.

could agree more, but i think we're sticking with aldrich until next season trade deadline at least. pretty sure nazr's gone this season end and backup is his to lose. I read somewhere it's either Spain or NBA for Pleiss next season.

Re: Backup PG
I don't think that the back up point guard is a critical position any longer, due to the improvement of Westbrook. At playoff time, Westbrook is probably going to play 40+ minutes a game.
Next year the team will have Maynor back from injury and Jackson in his second year to give Westbrook a bigger rest during the regular season.
I think if the team is going to bring Pleiss over it has to happen this summer. Otherwise you lose your development window and allow Pleiss to be developed by others. Presti seems too much of a control freak to let that happen. Pleiss can practice and get time in the d league next season.

Re: Backup PG
The Thunder need to bring in a guy who can facilitate. Russ, Harden, and KD can all beat their man, but in the playoffs where the defense gets better and better, we need a PG.
Even if it comes down to running Durant @ the 4, Harden @ the 3, and Westbrook @ the 2.

Re: Backup PG
I'll disagree with the idea that the team needs a facilitator. With the reason being that Durant, Westbrook and Harden have all improved in their shot creating ability. To put the ball in someone else's hands and all of a sudden making them create offense for others would be a mistake at this point in the season. The facilitation will have to come from the current members of the team or not at all.
Has there ever been a team with three players who can penetrate and finish as well as Durant, Westbrook and Harden?
The Pistons had Thomas, Dumars and Aguirre, but the Thunder are younger, longer and more athletic as a group.

Re: Backup PG
How has Jackson looked? Can someone give me a detailed scouting report, given the incredibly small sample size.
