Re: Jonas Valanciunas 11/12 Season Thread II
I noticed ''Pieno zvaigzdes'' has one really solid center, who is in fact should be completely out of their range. I dont know how they got him, but he is there - Paulo Sergio Prestes, 45th. pick by Minny in 2010.
He supposed to had an amazing upside and was one of the best looking South American prospects at the time. Destroyed Canadian juniors back in 2005 or 2006, had like 30/30 game against them.
Should be an interesting matchup.

That was a nice fake in the post for JV. He's starting to feel more comfortable with his post moves.

I loved it too he also hit a two feet under 3 point line jumper to start the game.

Val looks amazing so far. Should record this and show it to Mufasa later. I think he is already better post player than Donut, talking purely about moves, and not finishing touch.

I really need to bookmark the boxscore site. Anyone got it? I think Jonas has like 8pts and a couple blocks already.

Donatas is way more fluid with his post moves

But it is amazing how much Jonas improved on his move arsenal.

Anyone else think Jonas will get thrown around like a rag doll his first year here?

Nah, till than he'll have gained more weight/strength.

DraftExpress
What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

Wasn't Bosh skinnier when he played in his first year? I can't remember if he was thrown around though. Regardless, he was still effective.

Donatas is a highlight real. He is very quick, but his in game moves are off and are kinda ineffective. He often relies on contested unbalanced shots, his game is a headache.
I like what I seeing from Jonas, love his calm fundamentally sound game, he creates enough space while staying on his feet.

I think they are more or less the same size, I don't remember much of his first year though. I was more focused on Carter's lack of effort that year.

Bosh entered NBA as 210lbs Jonas now weights 245lbs. Average NBA C's weight around 250

Re: Jonas Valanciunas 11/12 Season Thread II
LOL Bosh and Jonas the same size? Jonas has a big frame man.. he's going to put on good mass.. it's mostly his arms that need some bulk work.. Bosh has only had about 2 years where he didn't look like an absolute tooth pick.. his contract year (where in the second half he lost a considerable amount of the muscle mass he gained in the offseason and looked like a second third year Bosh).. and this year after receiving a lot of criticism..
Bosh just can't hold onto his mass, he has to eat a tonne of calories a day just to keep the weight and it's impossible with his metabolism and how much weight he burns playing.. Jonas is already a way stronger player.. Bosh is pretty wiry strong though for a guy with his size, he has great body control.. but he's definitely "hungry"

Ya, the way he maneuvered around that defender is pure grace.
Seriously, you show a tape of him running defensless drills as your proof he is more fluid in the post. Great Example!
