Hey guys, someone just dropped Nene and I'm wondering if he's worth the pickup? He's been injured as of late, but it looks like he might be making a return shortly.
It's H2H and the CATs in my league are FG%/FT%/3PT/PTS/ASS/REB/STEALS/BLOCKS/TO, and here's my team:
Kyrie Irving
John Wall
Raymond Felton
Tyreke Evans
Nicolas Batum
MarShon Brooks
Paul George
Carmelo Anthony
Amare Stoudemire
Brook Lopez
Kris Humphries
Marc Gasol
I'd most likely drop Felton or Brooks, if Nene's deemed worthy of the pick-up. My only concern is that my team's had issues with 3's and steals- and forfeiting one of Brooks or Felton might hurt me even more in those regards. But on the flipside, Nene's been pretty consistent and could fetch me something in a 2 for 1 trade. Varejao's also on the waiver wire, but he might be out another month or so.
Thanks for the help guys,

Re: Pick up Nene?
Nene's driving me nuts this year with his injuries but I would definitely pick him up. I'd drop Brooks. Felton sucks right but its hard to find his assists on the wire. A nice little bonus with Nene is that he gets a lot of steals for a big (1.2 for the year) so that should help offset losing Brooks' steals.

Dropping Brooks for Nene, transaction pending though...
What about Blatche? He's also on the waiver wire, and looks like he's set for a return.

That's what I was thinking, but it looks like someone else in my league thought otherwise and snagged him. Got Nene at least...

Nene is worth a lot, lot more than Blatche who has been quite bad this season.
I had to drop him when he got hurt (had like 6 guys on IL) and have not picked him back up.

nene's heel injury isn't going away and he's never been particularly aggressive
plus regression to the mean for blatche could = another big 2nd half
just saying, don't be surprised if this blows up in your face
but know that even if it does you made the right decision

Yeah, I'm not too concerned about missing out on Blatche. I could end up eating those words, but I could live with that.
However, someone else in my league just dropped Z-Bo after stashing him in his line-up for about a month. The Griz might play him cautiously, but does anyone think he might be worth a look?

Re: Pick up Nene?
yeah, Nene's heel isn't HEALED, plus the calf strain is still a problem. scary like Chancey Billups right now, but with no surgery yet!
maybe partial tearing with Nene's calf. it's been like 4 weeks now since the injury. Full recovery takes approximately 5-8 weeks. don't get it confused, just because he's STARTING games, doesn't mean he's OK yet. he's not. he'll continue to play with LIMITED minutes for a while, (17-25 min?), but Nene can still play, just less in each CAT. plus Coach Karl needs him for the play-off stretch, so look for the minutes to be experimented with.
