thats a huge risk to trade iguodala on what you think george can become

i think george is playign well and getting better... but i dont think i make that trade 1 for 1 strait up...

george still gets a lot of points on spot up shots... idk... indiana is a good trade partner though with george and granger

what about a PG swap of holiday/lou/nocioni for george/collison

something like that maybe?

Indy definitely was looking to upgrade at PG this year. That is why I suggested Turner/Holiday (one or the other) plus another asset for George.

I'd do it straight up, the guy is a natural leader which we desparately need. Good 3pt shooter, can rebound, gets steals; just seems like a guy who's going to be a really good player when they turn the team over to him.

Pairing Iggy with George on the wing would be very nice. Both guys have big size with great athleticism and have balance on both ends . They can also switch position all the night due to different opponents. But it's too hard to convince Pacers trading their top talent. Jrue and Turner for George and Collison may make much sense . We can replace Jrue by Collison while Lou and Meeks coming from the bench.

we are talking about the same player here right??? paul george??

i know hes good and improving... but hes not as good on offense or defense as iggy is now.. he's younger i know... but man... some of you wouldnt trade iguodala for gay, ellis, or granger... but would for george right away?

idk.... id much rather do something like a PG swap for george... or holiday for george strait up...

start turner at PG... turner, george, iggy sounds pretty good... but thats a big risk with turner at PG for the future

George is better than Iguodala offensively I think by a small margin and will end up better. He is a way better leader from what I've gathered, a 3pt threat meaning we don't have to keep Meeks in the line-up, and he is very young with plenty of time to grow. If I could get away with a better deal for him, obviously I would love to pair him with Iguodala but I don't think that is realistic whatsoever.

And for the record, yes, I do think he is better than a bunch of knucklehead chuckers, one of whom will be making superstar money.

How exactly do you gauge Paul George's leadership?

George is a better half court scorer and shooter

Iggy is a better everything else. Defense, transition, boards, passing

And of course we all know a straight up trade is impossible since the salaries are so different

Not really, I believe they are under the cap.

The same as I do with anyone else.

Sure he is, he is the guy I see communicating with team vets like Granger like you normally see out of a guy like Billups or Brand or someone of that ilk.

im not quite sure that qualifies him as a leader but ok... either way that has no bearing on my opinion for or against him...i'd welcome him here, but not at the expense of iguodala.. i dont ever see george being a 20 ppg go to scorer

Well either is Iguodala unless you force feed him. I can see him being a 20ppg guy who plays good D, is a 3pt threat (which he already is), a decent rebounder and a good leader. I love Iguodala and spend most of my time defending him, but I don't want his entire career being the best player on his team, and it seems the way we are going that that will be the case. Again, if you can get him and keep Iguodala, I do it easily, but I think they view him the same way I do.

My bad, you're right.

I still wouldn't make the trade. I don't love trading current talent for potential unless I am really confident about the potential and I don't see George as a sure thing all-star in the future.

I don't think Indiana would make the trade either. If they're gonna take on that much salary, they'd just sign a free agent and hold on to George.

See I don't know. I hate the idea of trading Iguodala, I love him as a player more than most I think but we have been so stagnant over the last 4-5 years because we're so reluctant to trade any young guys and just as hesitant to trade our best player. Something has to give.

right.. iguodala isnt that... but hes the best wing defender in the league aside from maybe lebron... iggy has elevated his defense to something absolutely scary the last 2 years... and for that... hes worth more than most guys unless they are a go to 20 ppg scorer type

Where has anyone heard a rumor about us having trade interest in Paul George?
Where has any rumor surfaced that Indy was interested in dealing Paul George?
I haven't heard anything...
