If there's one area of his game that's maybe overlooked, it's his seemingly excellent ability to finish around the rim...not with dunking I mean, but simply being in the key area and putting it up over his defender with a little hook or touch shot. And when contact is coming, he seems to see it well and adjusts to protect the ball and position himself where he can finish after the contact (some players you would tell to try and dunk it every time but he seems more effective adjusting and making a little layup or something on the way down after drawing contact.)

I just realized there is an all-star game tomorrow. JV will be starting center for the Lithuania team and Weems will be on the other team (got the most votes, 11,317).

Finally, I just like his face and his persona. He looks strong but caring, honorable but amiable, passionate but humorous. He not simply good looking, though he is; he has the face of someone you'd want to be friends with AND someone you'd want to take into battle. This is a function of his face in concert with his personality but whatever the combination, it's going to serve him well in the NBA. Part of what makes Jeremy Lin so special is how he looks and the way he conducts his persona on and off the court and I think Jonas will be on this end of the spectrum - a likable leader if you will.

He would be the pefect boyfriend...he knows when to be caring and when to be a tough guy...best of both worlds...soft/sensitive/toughness/a friend are characteristics you would design in a boyfriend that you want to introduce to mom and dad and take home and live with forever

Yeah, I mean part of it is obviously unusually high motor/positioning/wingspan + length and oboarding abillity imo, but he does have an uncanny ability to finish right around the rim, he's very experienced at it and that's basicly his bread and butter...he's almost "canny" at getting dem easy buckets.

I agree its actually overlooked by some people, other's think it doesn't translate well to the nba, other's probably think "finishing near the rim, thats standard for an nba big lolz" even though it really isn't imo.

yeh, he seems like he's got an extremely soft touch around the rim, and can go up strong when needed. which is a ++. he also seems to have good hands, doesn't seem to fumble passes unless their really bad. now i didn't watch this game so i don't know what the 6 TOs are about. The games I did watch though were good (y)

I think 2 of those TOs was not his fault. I doubt he even touched the ball in the last play he got TO... Somehow, his TOs never really bothers me, barely notice it until I check his stat line. Some players are just painful to watch at times, Linas Kleiza for one, every time he dribbles it kills me. Jonas does some stupid TOs too, like passing to his opponents, but some of his TOs are offensive fouls or comes from a guard who makes an uncatchable pass.

Still can't believe some (or was it one) thought Val's athleticism was inferior to Biedrins, who NEVER displayed dunking ability that was anywhere near as consistent or impressive as Jonas has been showing us.

I kinda felt bad for the guy trying to catch up to him, he had no chance!
