Hawks/Bucks game thread.

Post#1 » by parson » Sat Mar 3, 2012 1:20 am

We were winning by going inside to Josh and Zaza (yeah, I said that). Then, Drew decided to insert Stackhouse and run the offense through him. We're trying a perimeter game against a smaller team.

I am NOT gonna spend this thread griping about Drew but, come on, Einstein.

By the way, it's "good Josh" tonight. Gotta milk that.

I honestly have to ask....is there a worse player in the NBA than Kirk Hinrich right now?

Seriously man?

This TEAM is terrible. I hope Josh doesn't go hero mode and try to win this game.

Let his so called TEAMmates step up. Teague has been good, Zaza has outperformed Marvin, again but the rest are stinking garbage.

And I'm glad JJ is out and Smith is listening to critics so people can see just how bad the supporting cast is.

Josh had 11 points in the 1st qtr, team decided it was time to go to an outside game. Stupid, stupid basketball. We're trying to play perimeter ball against a superior perimeter team. I'm sure they're thanking us as we go past each other to the lockers.

17 turnovers, though, is the biggest statistic.

This team isn't terrible. Its hard to overcome so many turnovers so quickly from one guy while he is also leaving people open on the defensive end. Hinrich was AWFUL in the first half. Start Tmac in the 2nd half for gods sake. Just keep that dude off the court.

I disagree. Post him up down low and give him 50 shots tonight. They can't stop him. Matter-of-fact, WE'RE the ones stopping him.

Keep him off the perimeter, post him up all game long. Ersan Ilyasova and Drew Gooden are defending him down low? I've hated on Josh's poor shot choice all season. In this case, the poor choice is to NOT post up.

Stop running the offense through Hinrich/Stackhouse and pound the ball inside.

good josh
+ good for couple transition passes and finishes
+ moved his feet and clogged passing lanes/ contested shots on drivers and forced them into some turnovers
+ drove left in the post a few times
+ 4 assists 2 turnovers
- airballed a drive when forced to right hand
- shot and clanked 1 or2 jumpers

Hawks down 12 to Bucks at home

Hawks want Josh to carry him in the post lmao. Bucks scored 51 points and we scored 39.

most turnovers in a half by a team since 08-09

WE LEAD THE LEAGUE!!!!

Yeah, baby, our having 17 turnovers in the 1st half is better than anybody else in the league. Take that, opponents.

The last shot they forced him right and he airballed. HE IS NOT A GO TO SCORER. He is a defensive role player. 12ppg defend and some assists like Iguodala.

Exactly. When he took that 3 pointer Larry Drew should have called him over and said the same thing. They can't stop you going to the hole. Don't waste time with jumpers. Punish them on the block until they prove they can stop you.

Gotta take Josh out. You can't let him get away with not running back after dribbling it off his heel like that. It's that obvious double standard that makes me hate Larry Drew as a coach.

I don't take him out tonight -- I shout at the PG to go get the ball from him.

And.. then pass it back to him down low.

Getting GOAT Smoove with flashes of bad Smoove sprinkled in. It's fine as long as he can keep this 80-20 ratio.

It wasn't the turnover, it was not getting back after it. The decision to not give up on the ball on the break was a mistake. Pouting over your screw up rather than leading by example is a crime. I defend Josh because of his ability, but that crap is getting real old. Grow up and be the consistent leader the team needs. You can't eliminate all mistakes but you can eliminate poor effort.

So Drew REALLY isn't going to put Josh back in, hu?

How many times does Pargo have to outpeform Kirk Hinrich for him to earn his minutes back and put Kirk on towel swinging duty?

Amazing we're not going with Josh here.

Rado's not playing well enough to justify that.

I REALLY can't believe that he is sticking with this entire Unit when you have a guy on the bench that was dominating the boards and scoing at will. Johnson and Rad aren't doing anything to justify being on the court right now.
