The captain is the mutha effin man.
From a numbers perspective, Tek was not a great player. However, his value/impact/game went SOOO much deeper than stats. He was an absolute master of calling games and managing pitching staffs. His intangibles were off the charts, and he was the lifeblood and glue that held together so many Boston teams.

He said in the press conference he was going to stay with the team in some capacity. But for the time being he's going to be with his family.
