I don't understand why this guy sucks at rebounding.

Doesn't put into effort. Rebounding is all about (what my coach back in highschool used to say) having the "Want-to" to do it. No reason why a 7ftr can't average at least 8 rebs per game

Now in is third season - and first under Avery Johnson - he's become more of a perimeter player, unafraid to hang by the 3-point line and launch 18-footers.

The tactic has its merits, specifically in the last five weeks, during which Lopez is averaging 22.7 points per game. But he's fallen under heavy criticism for his paltry rebounding average (5.7 per game). It's a big reason why Lopez was overlooked for this week's All-Star Game, despite currently averaging three more points per game than Eastern Conference reserve center Al Horford of Atlanta.

Johnson has blamed it on Lopez's lack of pursuit for the loose ball. Fields, for one, believes his former teammate can recapture the aggression.

Lopez showed it in Friday's victory over the Bobcats with 31 points and 11 rebounds (his second double-double of the season), but grabbed just four boards in Saturday's loss to the Knicks.

With games upcoming against dominating post teams - the Spurs (Monday night) and the Celtics (Wednesday) - the Nets will need big efforts from Lopez to avoid going into the All-Star break 23 games below .500.

"He's definitely capable (of becoming a dominating post player)," Fields said. "In college, wow, I mean it's not comparable to now, but he was doing all that stuff."

That was written last February and holds true today.

Geoffrey Albury ‏ @galbury007
@MisterRudolph chances of getting Monta without sending Anderson?

He himself came out and said earlier this season that it was a bit of lackadaisical attitude/laziness. Said he would try to improve on that. I don't know if it's because he JUST came back from a long injury and doesn't want to go too hard on that aggressiveness at the moment or if he just is still being lazy. Who knows.

It's easy for some people (white people especially) to say have a sense of humor and complain about how the world we live in is so PC. Fact is, we wouldn't be in this position if not for racism, bigotry and discrimination in the first place. That is what makes jokes, references to race and stereotypes carry more sting than they should.

Fortune cookies are a common asian stereotype and it is one of the things chinese people get ridiculed on all the time. How can you act surprised that people would be offended by this? Comparing it to Dirk and pretzels is laughable. Besides, Dirk is German and Jeremy Lin is American. What makes people look stupid is they constantly badger him with Asian references just because of his appearance. It's as moronic as making a Dwight Howard ice cream flavor with African tribal packaging as a 'linkage' to his African roots, being a black man and all.

Wow for anyone wanting Nash turn it over to ESPN and watch Frye. That guy is pathetic. He seriously missed idk how many wide open layups that would put Duhon to shame. IF we have to trade Anderson for Nash be prepared for 4 years of this loser.

Not only is he American, but the whole fortune cookie thing is Chinese and Lin's family is from Taiwan where they don't have fortune cookies.

Putting up 0-7. He must know he's getting traded. He's been decent the last 5 games but go back and look at the game logs all season and he goes 0-7 a few times, and a couple times here and there shooting .200 and in the .100s.

Yeah he's horrible. lol @ anyone who thinks he can fill Anderson's role. Last i saw he was shooting something like 33% from three. That's not even close. People need to think long term about what bringing Frye over here does. Sure we get Nash but what about next year? And the year after? Frye would be with us till like 2015. F that

Does this guy know anything? Anderson is the only one on our team outside of dwight that has any value right now and he thinks we can get Ellis not using Anderson that is ignorant
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

^ I appreciate his optimism, I'm just not buying it. I wanna see a tweet saying something is "imminent" before I get my hopes up and something like "it's a done deal" by multiple sources before I buy into it. We've been down this road and burned before.

I don't think it's all that ignorant.

Magic Receive: Monta
Warriors Receive: Al Jefferson
Jazz Receive: Jameer, JJ, Clark, and picks

:dontknow:

I think Jazz need more, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Nash said tonight he wasnt requesting a trade, but was open to it, however he also said that right now it is at a stand still. Otis is going to have to up the ante to get it done..I bet he is offering JJ plus nelson and turk and they want Anderson instead of JJ..
out of difficulty comes opportunity.

I just dont think teams (Utah) value JJ and Clark as much as we do so that would be an amazing deal but everyone is saying we lack assets and they are right. I just cant see it i hope i am wrong but alot of experts Scoff at our lack of assets
