Or LA does not want to spend the money to resign Sessions since they would have his Bird Rights, if they traded for him. Kind of interesting since some big market fans have called smaller market owner's cheap for not paying for the anything it takes approach to win.

From an outsider looking in, I might have a trade for you guys that works for both teams

Hawks Get: Jamison and Sessions

Cavs get: Hinrich, Williams and 2012 1st rd pick

Any Thoughts?

That has been talked about on other Cavs message boards and I could see it happening. We get the pick we are looking for and get Williams who Chris Grant drafted when he was with the Hawks. I personally wouldn't mind it only if the pick is involved though.

It's not a bad idea...we'd get a more consistent small forward that plays better defense, a solid defender/shooter who's comfortable as a backup PG in Hinrich.. and IIRC, he has a history of defending D Wade fairly well, so getting a versatile guard that can defend the 1 and 2 is always a plus. The pick, of course, is nice too :D (without having to give up AV)

+1
I agree--- only if the Atlanta unprotected 2012 1st round pick is involved.

Lakers would look really good no question with Sessions out there. They'd be able to challenge the Heat.

Really trying to sell it huh? Personally I like the ATL deal better. While Williams has been a disappointment as far as what expectations were for him, he would be a decent role player here.

You offered, Laker's management denied. Unfortunate but that's the reality of it. I hate that the dollars I pay are going to other franchises. 50m a year in revenue sharing?

We probably wanted a lot for him. That is what happens when you are in the position of power when it comes to a trade, you try and sell high.

I'm sure the few nose bleed tickets you buy with your minimum wage salary makes up a huge chunk of that revenue sharing. Have a nice trip out of the Cavs forums, troll. Won't be seeing ya.

IMO, it's more fan frustration than trolling. There wouldn't have been an NBA season without this revenue sharing--- that's how the small and mid-market owner's agreed to the season saving concessions to save a large chunk of this season.

I like the Atlanta deal better too. LA supposed to be enamored with Felton from Portland and are rumored to be having much more interest in Beasley.

Since you guys want picks would you do Walton for a 1st deal in the summer?

^ The Cavs had the Baron Davis for an unprotected pick on the table for a month before they pulled the trigger on the unprotected lottery pick on last season's trade deadline and Baron Davis is still somewhat useful. IMO, Walton is not useful and the Cavs will be looking for useful players this summer. With the new restrictive CBA, teams will not be open to taking on a bad contract without significant incentive like an unprotected 1st in the 2012 draft.

Well considering the fact that exchanges of cash are even more restricted than before that should make player for pick swaps even more valuable not less.

The team with that bad cap situation is going to have to pay a premium to move that bad contract which means the Laker's have virtually no leverage to move Walton. With the new revenue sharing, as part of the new CBA, cash exchanges become less relevant as a trade asset anyway.

Maybe Portland wants to get rid of Felton bad enough to take Blake and the Wolves trade Beasley to take on Walton for those 1st round picks LA has. No one is going to do a favor for teams like the LA with no cap flexibility with three cap choking max contracts. Outside of LA's big three, they don't have any appealing assets other than draft picks.

Some Atlanta fans think that giving up a 1st round pick is too steep for cap flexibility too which makes bad contracts like Williams unmovable. The Cavs need to keep their cap flexibility instead of wasting it for minor rebuilding assets like late 1st or 2nd round picks. IMO, the Cavs need to exercise patience and ride their current roster into the lottery with massive cap space with Jamison and Hollins expiring this summer.

Nothing going to happen until the trade deadline anyway--- cap strapped teams are still dreaming about getting rid of their bad contracts on the cheap.

I'm amused the some Laker fans are arguing that Sessions is not worth their first? Sessions is definitely worth more than a pick in the 20's in just about any draft. But that's okay. If they think that win against the Heat was anything other than an aberration and they'd be able to play against them (even with Sessions). I wish them the best of luck.

I get the feeling you are overestimating what I meant by "solid rotation player"
