I just deleted my post 5 different times because I realize that I was just saying the same stuff over and over.

I like this. Really the only gripe I have with Stan is not giving Wafer minutes but that is hard with JRich and JJ here.

Our primary unit has a +2.78 overall rating and our primary bench unit a -1.65 overall rating. Just to contrast, in '10 our primary unit had a +16.43 overall rating and our ALL bench unit a +15.91 overall rating.

We should have won that year :(

Don't be surprised if the Orlando Magic pursue Josh Smith. They want to make a big move and he's Dwight Howard's best friend in the league.

Agreed. There's absolutely no reason for the Hawks to trade their best player (imo). They're playing great basketball right now.

Alex Kennedy ‏ @AlexKennedyNBA
Dwight Howard and Josh Smith have dreamed of playing together in the NBA since they were kids. I just don't know if Orlando has the assets.

The story of this franchise :noway:

the primary differences between our team's in 09 and 10?

Dwight/Marcin
Lewis/Battie
Hedo/Pietrus
Lee/JJ
Alston/Nelson

Dwight/Marcin
Lewis/Bass/Anderson
Barnes/Pietrus
Carter/JJ
Nelson/AJ

Dwight
Anderson/BBD
Hedo/Q
JRich/JJ
Nelson/Duhon

the difference is that our current lineup almost has too many options on offense who aren't consistent enough, and we've got no defense.

we were good then, but instead of addressing what was wrong - not having a go to scorer - we watered down what we had and spread it thinner, leaving us with lesser defenders.

i think this team needs some more defense/role players, it needs a distributor at PG, and it needs a bonafide 2nd option. you could probably correct all that with positions 1-3, without having to touch Anderson.

Alex Kennedy ‏ @AlexKennedyNBA
Ryan Anderson, J.J. Redick and Jameer Nelson are mediocre assets. They won't yield a star player, which is what Orlando needs.

Alex Kennedy ‏ @AlexKennedyNBA
For those saying that Ryan Anderson is a great asset, many executives around the league believe Anderson is a product of Orlando's system.

If true, this might be the nail in our coffin.

The '09 primary unit with Rafer had a +3.49 overall rating, not much better than this year's. Of course with Nelson it was a different story, as that unit had a +23.79 overall rating. The primary '09 bench unit is harder to peg down, as there was so much inconsistency in which bench lineup we we went to. Anyway, I think my main point is that the '10 Magic was really much stronger than the '09 team, we just happened to run into a healthy Celtics squad in '10 where as we dodged that in '09.

Edit:

That doesn't have to be all bad news really, it could mean the market will set Anderson's price much lower than his production would otherwise say.

Any exec who thinks this simply should not be a GM. Rashard Lewis wasn't a product of our system which is basically the role Ryan is playing currently. Brandon Bass never had the success Ryan Anderson is currently having. Ryan's offensive rebounding is NOT a product of our system. In fact his rebounding numbers overall are hurt because he plays mostly on the perimeter. Once again this just tells me that Hoopsworld peeps are really clueless.

Could be that GM's are clueless. I wouldn't mind keeping Ryan and trading Dwight for picks. I just want something good to happen.
