If Ves had more minutes I wouldnt have been surprised if he got a dunk comp invite especially with McGee opting out. Wouldnt mind something like that happening, I would be real interested to see what kind of jams he is capable of in that setting.

Presumably something shameful and apparently equipped without twice as many joints as is usually the case; such is the fate of the white man dunker.

I dunno man... that dunk was a thing of beauty.

He seems quite well co-ordinated for a 6'11" guy

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Handles, shooting, core strength, hand strength, and speed of the game.

I expect that he'll develop in at least a few of those areas over the next year or two, but there are considerable question marks.

I still think if we add a shooter or three, Vesely's game will improve as a result. We're asking him to do stuff he probably can't do, like shoot. Dude is a put back, dunker type of guy and yeah he'd probably develop a J sometime down the line, but that's who he is right now. A good coach would notice that and use that as a strength of his.

i think he's a good big to keep in reserve. instead of forcing him into a sf role, i think it'd be more natural and effective to utilize his size and have him as our backup PF and eventually possibly C. he'll have an easier time transitioning to joel pryzbilla than kirilenko

Indeed. All he has to do to become a solid backup PF/C is hit the weights hard and concentrate on defensive rebounding in games.

If he wants to be a wing or a SF/PF hybrid, he MUST learn to shoot. That may be harder for him, as you say.

Trade Ves and Crawford while you can for something useful we can depend on. Again, I don't see the point in developing backups. Only perpetually losing franchises waste years and valueable resources developing marginal talent.

This is like wasting years developing JJ & Juan Dixon all over again.

Crawford probably has more value. A big-man who can't shoot, score, or rebound, wouldn't get us much in return.

LOL here we go again.

Enlighten us...what great stud are we going to get for a package of Crawford and Vesely? Since you're convinced they are backup career losers, what do expect the return is going to be? By your own description of them, I'm sure we'd get two nice 2nd rounders in this draft. Yep, that's defintely worth it.

:-?

This whole strawman argument thing is getting real old. In fact it's plain lazy thinking on your part. Who said anything about a 'great stud'? And were talking about a recent 6th pick in the draft and a guy capable of going for 20 & 30 a night. Two guys on rookie contracts. Their collective value is certainly worth more than a couple of second rounders.

So why don't try to come up with a better argument next time before you start rollin' your eyes like some irriated female?

I don't sense sarcasm in your post. Were you trying to be sarcastic? The :-? Face doesn't do well if you were being sarcastic. Just saying.

What a crock of baloney. You just said they were career backups and marginal talent. Now all of sudden when you get called out for your BS, they're all of sudden a "recent 6th pick and a guy capable of 20 a night"? At least be consistent with your bull. Going by your own standards, no one is giving up anything worth a damn for marginal talent/career backups. Your whole argument is one big ass circle that doesn't make sense...

So I understand why you consistently play the whole little strawman fallacy time and time again. You can't recognize the simple difference b/w fact (Vesely was 6th pick of the 2011 draft and Crawford has averaged over 18 ppg for a nice little stretch) and opinion (Vesely has no offensive skill and Crawford's stretch is more fools gold than anything else).

And apparently you've come to some nonsensical conclusion that somehow MY opinion has some relevance with the opinion of others including other GMs. And me stating fact is somehow inconsistent with the argument I'm making.

So I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense to you. I honestly don't blame you. Some of us are just limited in what we can actually conceptualize.

I've been trying to keep an open mind with JV but it is getting harder and harder. He is so bad I am starting to miss Yi.

I'm going to keep my positive mentality until next season. It's that or start pulling a CCJ on everyone and bring up how I said we should draft Leonard every other post. ;)

he has extremely uncoordinated weak hands. Its almost as if his hands aren't used to gripping the basketball or controlling it for long periods of time. A pro skills development coach would make him perform low to the ground speed bounces 45 minutes non stop with each hand until he builds enough motor coordination to control the ball with his finger tips with a ligtening quick ankle level speed dribble.
But when you have ernie has the ships captain, things like this don't get done. you have to first diagnose that the ship is sinking before you can figure out how to repair it.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

I guess we need a low to the ground lightning speed dribble coach.

I got to meet JV after the game last night.

In the maybe ten seconds I had in front of him, I just said
Buzz Bramen. He looked at my funny and I repeated it.

I don't care how-well Ernie has executed Ted's re-build plan. Ernie HAS to be fired for selecting Jan Vesely with our 6th pick. Ernie drafted a player with ZERO offensive skills. 6"11 and can't score in the post. On the perimeter he can't /won't shoot. Love his hustle and BBIQ, but it ain't enough.
