you guys need rondo, trade westbrook
Bulls fan here, I come in peace, but you guys should be all over westbrook for rondo and a player to make salary work. I think rondo a true piont would almost make you guys unbeatable, just my 2 cents, westbrook needs his own team to run, him and KD will heads to much with the scoring and touches..

No. Read more Thunder's Board, and see what we think about this. You'll also see a lot of topics talking about this subject.
Both are excellent scorers, have 20 shots per game, have high usage, and there's no late game problems, since Durant is dominating most games close fourth quarters.
Westbrook's usage has to go down, sure. We have to give Harden a little more the ball. But Thunder has to add more scoring and passing threats, especially at our PF/C rotation too. Better offensive system as well.
No need to trade Westbrook unless it's a Deron Williams, Chris Paul or Derrick Rose. We need scoring, Rondo wouldn't bring this. Rondo would make us worse, since he wouldn't have in OKC the amount of scoring options he has in Boston.

Am I the only one fascinated by how the player many think the Thunder should acquire to become unbeatable, Rondo, is always being shopped by his current team and the player that many think the Thunder should trade, Westbrook, is never shopped, but extended with a maximum commitment?
Instead of problem solving things that aren't problems why not enjoy a process in which a team contends despite not being built by the traditional template of low post scoring and assist first point guard.
The Thunder winning a championship under it's current construction would be one of the best things to happen to the NBA in a long time, in that it could finally kick start a slew of historically mediocre managed franchises awake.

Re: you guys need rondo, trade westbrook
Mr. Westbrook is a top 20 player in the league. The Thunder win a lot of games for two reasons. One of them is their ability to get to the line and have a high FT%. The Thunder have been the league leaders in this stat the past two years. Rondo can not shoot from the line. Rondo is not the type of player the Thunder go after.
The other reason is KD (with his super side kick Russ)!
This is Sam Presti's "Moneyball" of basketball. High FT%, wins more games.

Rondo would clearly make this team worse.
I don't get this being our new "storyline." At the beginning of the year it was that Durant and Westbrook "hated each other" and now its "We should trade Westbrook for a worse player so we can get better"

Am I the only person in the world that thinks the Thunder would improve with a Rondo-Harden swap, with Russell playing the 2?
investigate Adam Silver

Russell Westbrook is in my top 10 favorite NBA players currently but thinking about this idea more and more...it doesn't sound to crazy.
If Rondo was on OKC it will be less complaining because Rondo will not take a lot of shot, he loves to give assist so I see him keep giving the ball to Durant, especially if he's hot. He has the good vision and he loves passing the ball so I think Rondo and Durant 'on the court' would be pretty good.
Westbrook/Durant are my favorite duo though, that's what makes this a tough decision...

Re: you guys need rondo, trade westbrook
I used to think the same thing. Ship out Westbrook, pick up Rondo. Heck, as recently as this last winter, I thought that.
But the way Westbrook has been playing recently, OKC should death-grip that guy. He isn't perfect, but he gives the team a very, very powerful weapon, which causes defenses to focus on him, not just Durant, and it gives them another option in case Durant is off. I can't see what BOS would do to make it worthwhile to OKC at this point.
As for Harden for Rondo......just.....absolutely not. That's terrible.
