A bit of information I gathered from speaking to a couple of agents/scouts over the last couple of days.
The Magic to Bulls proposal regarding the Howard talks is Howard-Turkoglou for Noah-Deng-Asik-Korver..The scout that told me this is from an Atlantic Division team so.....take it easy.
A few weeks ago I spoke with a former retired teammate of Hedo and he told me that Hidayet has been informed about 3 possible destinations in March(NJ,LA,Chicago). So I would safely say the Bulls are in the mix of it.
I'm sure the Bulls are serious about getting Howard ,of course it will all depend mostly from Howard and the Orlando front office. On the other hand you have the Bulls management that has never pulled a big talent for talent trade (no salary dumps) and I'm sure their offer is different in our favour.
Hey Magic Fans. I'm a Bulls follower on the Bulls Board, & we have a one of our fellow insiders named JOHN, whose based overseas, but has connnections to various team sources, & usually posts info when he hears it. The posted above was from JOHN earlier today about possible Bulls & Magic trade talks. He said he heard from one Atlantic Division Team scout that said the Magic asked the Bulls for Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Omer Asik, & Kyle Korver. I'd also figure draft picks (Possibly Charlotte 2016 pick & Bulls 2012 & 2014) could be involved as well. I know you guys dont want to trade Dwight & we know the Magic front office is trying to find players (Ellis, Nash, etc.) to keep Dwight in Orlando, but if by the eleventh hour comes & Dwight tells Orlando he still wants out & the FO cant get Ellis or Nash, then how do you guys feel about the Bulls offer for Dwight. Of Course, the Magic wont get equal value for d12, but in a Bulls offer, you guys could possibly get a All-star Forward in Luol Deng, A Talented Big Man, Energy player, rebounder, & Gator Alum Joakim Noah, A great defensive big man in Omer Asik, a sharp shooter from out side in Kyle Korver, & possibly 2 1st round draft picks for Dwight Howard & Hedo. This deal is also predicated on Dwight agreeing to an extension with the Bulls, which nobody is sure he would do.
I just want to know your thoughts on this offer, would you consider it a good deal if nothing else pans out & I also want to know what else would you guys possibly want off the Bulls roster with the exception of Derrick Rose, who is untouchable This is not trolling, but just a simple discussion. I'd make that trade. would the Bulls consider a Duhon for Watson swap, or BBD for Gibson swap, included in the Howard deal of course.

If we trade Dwight, we need draft picks and cap space. Lots of draft picks.

I think we're handling this worse than Denver did the Carmelo situation. We seem to be in denial.
And can someone please explain why we gave JRich and BBD 4 year deals AFTER Dwight said he wanted out. I still can't figure that out.

Isn't that the NJ trade? He seems to think Dwight is getting moved to NJ.
No, you guys have it wrong. He means why are we not making cap saving measures/trades, and buying/trading-for extra picks as cheap roster filler. He has a point.
Otis is in def con 5 here and seemingly has no master long term plan (unless Orton option decline was a very, very small domino). Dwight wants many things (big market, superstar/all star teammates, winning/tougher teammates, attention, endorsements, title) and Otis is doing same old, same old; making a honest mistake on the VC trade after a nba finals appearrance, then blowing it up piece by piece, trade after trade. Bass, Barnes, Q all seem good signings (pointing to one of his strong suits) but the dude lost all edge in trading when we clearly needed it or a reversal cap saving strategy. With fewer assets/mounting pressure this season, Otis is still trying to "improve this team." Get a clue man, change it up, time to get cap space or something along those lines. (Or rather, he did change it up, he tried to trade Dwight instead and still wants to. And the deal looked underwhelming unless it included Marshon and a lottery). But what about now? Is he moving on to a brand new strategy of cap saving and convincing Dwight to be with 1-2 All Star teammates in 1 year, or is he standing in that dark arena tunnel with one more possible TNT charge to blast the team in a blockbuster again; with his trade record as bad as it is now?
This is why I advocate a trade for Nash the most. All Otis has to do is trade for him- maybe without hurting future cap space as bad as some Nash-ORL trade scenarios- and hand him the keys to the whole offense. He's an expiring contract. TPEing bad contract Warrick doesn't hurt the Magic's predicted available cap space in 1 year's time. JJ played great PnR with Gortat, and Magic picks to PHX are potential deep lottery. Nash is still one hell of a passing point guard with all star level offense. That trade lets Otis kick back and relax, giving him a great shot at retaining Dwight and reformulating a new strategy, maybe even a surefire Free Agency-centered strategy based around prime All Stars for once... that can convince Dwight to sign up with...

I'm sure the Bulls would "Consider" Duhon for Watson, but I'm not sure because Bulls value Watson alot & he has a team option for 2012-13 season. As for Big Baby for Gibson, I think the Bulls would rather keep Taj, but they could include him I guess. Coach Tom Thibodeau has a relationship with BBD from his days in Boston, but his contract could scare the Bulls off. I'm sure the Bulls would consider either scenario being included in a possible Dwight deal, but only if they have too. In other words, if another team tries to outbid them.

Okay, cool. I'd make the actual trade that "John" (or whatever his name is) posted anyway, but, I'd try to get one of Watson or Gibson first.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt XIV: Trade Deadline cont
I'm sure this was already posted but...just in case.
Remember Fran Vazquez?
The Magic haven't forgotten the forgotten man of their 2005 draft.
Smith said Vazquez' contractual situation will allow him to come over to the states and maybe finally attempt to make the Magic's roster.
"That's the plan," Smith said of the Spanish power forward.
Vazquez is playing for FCB Regal in Spain. Smith said Assistant General Manager Dave Twardzik and scout Sam Foggin have seen and spoke with Vazquez.
The Magic still own the NBA rights to Vazquez. The club drafted Vazquez with the 11th pick, but he decided to remain in Spain.
Minnesota Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio earlier this season and told the Orlando Sentinel earlier this season, "He's physically ready to come here [and play in the NBA]. I played with him a couple of years in Barçelona, and it's easy to play with him because he doesn't need the ball.
"He's a worker. He's going to fight for every rebound. He's going to fight every possession. And you can throw the ball in there, and he's going to catch it and throw it down."

I think I'd be OK with it too. I don't want to get too picky. Part of me wants to gut the roster in a trade, take back expiring and picks, and shoot for 2013. Another part holds onto a remote dream that the reassembled team forms a crazy bond and makes it to the ECF facing the Bulls in a old vs. new roster matchup which would be awesome.

We would probably wind up playing the Bulls in the 1st round. If you think about the effects of the trade, we'd drop a few spots, bulls would probably stay the same. We'd end up playing Dwight in the 1st round. Just thinking outside of the team and the fan's perspective, that story line would be pretty nice. I'd think the guys that got ditched from Chicago to Orlando would really want to win and we'd have an interesting series with Chicago.
