So far i have not seen a single trade that make us a better team.

I think we should keep the core team as it is, finding a back up C would be cool thoug

no problem how about LBJ for Turk and BBD...

so your plan is to keep this 1st round exit team and let Dwight walk????

does this make us a better team???

The Chicago trade will net us some solid pieces, but not much upside from that group, a lot of finished products, no good draft pick, players with hefty contracts, and no real star potential, solid foundation but nothing exciting, still would need to find #1-2 options for offense cause we would struggle to score

Well, if you just want him to leave and let us with bad contracts, you have the option to keep him for this 2 months rental.

Berger of CBSSports.com reports word around the league is that Orlando indeed plans to let the deadline pass without trading Howard, a decision "rival executives" believe to be "foolish."

So apparantly we're going the Toronto route, instead of the Denver route... Wow, I sure hope we just happened to land the #1 pick and that Lebrons younger brother is entering the league...

Sounds like an Alex Martins strategy to me

^^ The Amway Center just cost what, Half a billion dollars? No way we go into a rebuild.... unless theyre dumb enough to think he stays. PS, Turk shot 0% last night, good luck selling D12 on 3 years of that.

Martins has to know something. I think he is a smart man. I mean he worked his way up all the way from public relations for the team. With the Magic being tight lipped on anything that they do, Martins isnt saying sh*t about what the situation is in regards to Howard. Its a game, and I swear to God, I hope Martins knows how to play it. Because if this works out, there needs to be a gold statue of him out in front of Amway soon.

For anyone who doesn't know:

Any trade involving Dwight definitely makes us worse for the rest of 2011-2012.
A trade could possibly improve the team in 2012-2013 if you assume Dwight will "walk for nothing" but the improvement will be short lived.
If we let Dwight Walk, we have enough cap room in 2013 to sign two all-star caliber players plus we have a high draft pick from sucking next year.
If we try to rush into a trade now, we hang around .500 next year, get swept in the first round by the bull or heat and pick somewhere around 15 in the draft while preparing to be mediocre again.

Any Bulls package that doesn't involve Rose and Thibs isn't winning you anything. The Bulls lost to the Heat because no one outside of Rose could create any offense in crunch time. Why would we build around the secondary guys?

Any Knicks package is not worth it either. We don't get better by stealing the core of a .500 team.

Knowing the Thunder have no desire to trade with us, none of their guys outside of Westbrook and Durant are game changers.

Nets... Ha!

We are best to just sit tight. Long time fans aren't going anywhere if Dwight leaves.

If we win the title this year or at least make it to the finals...I think we have a good chance convincing Dwight to stay..but unless we make a trade to get that player that will allow us to compete with bulls heat..etc, we will lose in the second round. We don't need a superstar to beat these teams, an upgrade at PG a backup center and a slasher that plays defense will def get us in the right direction. Our team is not bad, it's just not on the level we need to be to beat the great teams.

Better hope Otis isnt at the helm giving out 120 mil contracts left and right for older, above avg players.

Fans keep suggesting NYK will offer Melo, but every reputable article I read said they'd only offer STAT.. I'd love Melo, but New York is his home from now on.

Let's totally disregard the 9ast(accounted for 36% of the teams ast)/1 TO stat line so you can continue your Stephen Jackson nonsense.

I agree Melo will not happen but IMO it is as close to fair value that could become available possibly over the summer

Good. I was afraid of this team marching into the playoffs without Howard.

Also makes the Free Agency period this yr that much more fun.
Originated from the nethermost, currently however, our entire squadron is now hither.

Exactly. Not to mention it allows us to play out the chance at keeping him, a best case scenario. You don't give that up for a rebuild that will happen whether we trade him or he walks. I'm cool with a lottery pick and two max free agents, a worst case scenario.

I like that he got some nice passes in, hopefully the shooting becomes consistent before playoff time.

The two best players in the Free Agency pool are Chris Paul & Blake Griffin... Now tell me, which one is gonna leave their team in LA to come to us for less money?
