It's about time. Z has come back as special assistant to the GM (Grant)

This was in the works long before he left. Nice to see they followed through on it. Wonder what his role will be....Euro Scouting?

This is exactly what needed to be done.

After you missed Valanciunas, this move is one year too late.

I like Z and all, but does anybody think he's going to be really good at this job? That interview he did during the game when they announced he was coming back certainly didn't make me think he has any clue what he's doing.

When they asked him what his role would be, he couldn't even answer the question. He's just a name and it's cool that they brought him back, but I'm really hoping they're not giving him any real responsibility.

***Wow... that was really a negative post. I apologize for that but that's the way I'm thinking about this right now. I guess we'll know more when we draft some kid from Estonia in the 2d round and watch how he turns out.

I must have pulled a Rip Van Winkle and fallen asleep. Last time I was conscious, Valanciunas hadn't even played in the league yet. What did I miss? Did he have an awesome career?

I wouldn't judge him based on that interview. He might not be at liberty to discuss the details of his job.

Fair counterpoint to my knee-jerk negativity.

I'm kind of feeling your thought mup. Not sure how great Z will be at his new capacity. I'll give my favorite player of all time the BOD and I'm glad to see him back in the fold.

Depends on what you call awesome. He is after all gold medalist ion every category, dominated USA team in his age category, and MVP in all his age category. Even against tougher oppenents like Kaman, Dirk, Gasol brothers he was pulling great numbers in Eurobasket despite being 19.

He havent played a single game in NBA yet but he certainly had a 100X times more impressive career than TT at this point.

Personally I think Cavs made a mistake by passing on him.

Well hopefuly Z will teach TT how to finish around the rim now. (Z is big men coach come the next season).

That was the point being made. Nobody cares about the rest.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

This reminds me going onto a little bit denial here. If TT would have been playing great then yeah but he isnt all that awesome. We will see how Val will turn when he is in the league. He seems like a better prospect, but we will see how it will turn out. Its just that a guy like Valanciunas would have fitted the offensive system with Irving better (assuming that he keeps the similar playing style once he comes to NBA) than TT.

You call denial, I call conjecture. Fun game.
