If the Nets can get Howard, without question they should give Brook Lopez a chance to play PF. Then take it from there. In my opinion, giving him up Monta Ellis is foolish. Let him play with Dwight Howard before making a trade.

im not a big rudy gay fan... i just dont see him as a competitive guy... iggy goes 110% every second he is on the court, and is someone who can make an impact without the ball in his hands. i think hed be a perfect fit

Iggy's a lock down defender too. Gay's good, but Iggy is in the LeBron/T. Allen/Deng class of perimeter defenders.

Iggy needs the ball in his hands to be most effective on offense and is suspect in the half court.

Yes his defense is basically elite, he gets out in transition and he can pass the ball, but he needs a high usage rate to put up big numbers which he shouldn't have.

If you see him right now, with a low usage rate, it's where he's most effective, but the problem is his salary is that of an elite 2nd option, if not a standard 1st.

That's all fine and dandy if you're getting him for something along the lines of expirings, a mediocre pick and MarShon, but no way in hell I'm giving up my main chip like a top 5 pick in a stellar draft for this guy, he's an albatross and he's just pretty good, not even in the realm of great, nor should he even be considered really good.

I would barely call him a tier 3 player.

He's a guy if he was making $10 mill a year or under would be great. But at the same time, no matter what he was making I would not give up that type of potential and more important value for him.


Also, for what it's worth, Rudy Gay has become a really good defender. He's definitely not an elite on ball guy like Iggy, but he's solid on the ball and very good in helpside.

I think it's a gross misstatement to say Rudy Gay isn't competitive as well and also I wouldn't necessarily call Iggy a guy who 110% all the time, he disappears for games at a time and just stands around half the time on offense in the half court even though his spot up shooting ability is meh.
