I had a dream last night about Val playing the last game of this 11-12 season and he had 11/7 in 20 mins and he bumped chest with Bargs and the crowd went insane! I can't wait for this reality to happen next season!

someone has to do the same for DeMar at ACC, too :P

I have an impression that you havent seen a single Rytas game. Otherwise you would not be saying such nonsense as Seibutis being a chucker. He is hands down second best player after Jonas in Rytas team and his shooting % is very high. Are you sure you are not mixing him with Rice?

you're wrong, i did watch some games.. and i was kiddin, he reminds me of chuckfino, but not that chucker lol
but i do think the idea would be good for DeMar case

Hey Ucan'tUwon't, I was thinkin this: what if Big V had to guard one on one a 7ft like Bargs?? Is Big V fast enough to guard him?? and how do you see this frontcourt??? What would be the main strengths of this frontcourt?

Also add to that how his JV's help-D?? we know that Bargnani's help D is porous and would need someone who can back him up.

I personally think he would struggle, not due to physical limitations though. The reason for his struggles would be lack of experience guarding a perimeter oriented big as skilled/quick as bargs. I do think that with practice he will get better though. I honestly think that the Jonas/Bargnani pairing will be a FORCE in the coming years.

Most of European bigs are more versatile and lighter in general, so at the same time, Euros are usually are the ones who are used to defend perimeter bigs. Val has experienced defending versatile bigs, I remember one game from last year, and he did a great job against PF, Antonis Fotsis, who is quick and elite for sure. So I would say yes, he could be at least tolerable defender, although I dont think its a real need.

Val, struggles against strong and huge bigmen in the post. Thats the problem.

Val's held D is there, he was always known as a guy who contest and block shots. But it still bothers me a lot. His timing is not perfect, he tends to leave his man way too often and to early. But I think its 19 year old mistakes, and hes getting better. He was atrocious last year, his pick and roll defense was horrible, and hes not slow, just had no experience, had no idea what to do.

theres a problem there if he struggles against big men, cause you know, we've had many problems because we havent had a real C... thats why the Bosh-Bargs was not that good... i guess Big V would struggle guarding Bargs.. When Bargs is hot, he's unguardable, he has developed the pump fake, and he goes to the rim like a guard... you havent respond on how do you see this frontcourt, and what strenghts do you see

Chandler also struggles against big guys, Dwight on the other hand cant defend Bargs. No one is perfect, Jonas will get stronger and I doubt he will be a defensive liability. But this team needs a back up C, who could defend bigger bodies.

I already talked about strengths before. Ability to score is definitely a strength, post man on man defense is still a weakness.

Offensively, Bargs/Val frontcourt looks perfect. Thinking about Princeton offense or smth. similar. Val, should kill with his first step, and since that move requires help D to be stopped, it should create some open shots for Bargs. And vice versa, Val is active off the ball and can hit a mid range jumper, so he should be decent floor stretcher for Bargs. I also think Jonas should be a decent post player. Offensively, those 2 just cant fail, extraordinary tandem.

Nothing to say about shoe 2 Defensively. Inferior Dirk/Chandler I guess.

No one expects Val to be the perfect C to start some have low expectation and in my case higher.
The likely scenario is he will come some where in between.

No C is perfect Dwight has 4 major flaws in his game
1. Terrible foul shooter which makes him a negative at the end of close games
2. Offensively he has no range but is a very high % shooter at close range.
3. He struggles to defend against a mobile C or PF like Bargs
4. He can get get into foul trouble when playing certain lineups.

VTB league is second best in Europe behind only Euroleague...Anyway, if he hadnt been drafted by raps in my opinion now he playing in Spain or Italy or other big Euroleague club.

Wow, nice power move. Backed his man down, spun around and threw it down.
