I'm at peace with losing Dwight for nothing TBH.

What needs to happen is for the NBA to change up how the draft lottery works. There should not be scenarios where losing is the desirable outcome for a competitive game. Yet if Dwight walks, losing is exactly the return I want from that exchange under the current and former CBA.

Yeah, I'm taking my chances on him walking away in the summer. It's not like the packages presented are going to fast track us to a championship, anyway. We get just enough pieces back to continue falling short of our goal with no real centerpiece.

And no, Bynum/Lopez/Brooks/Deng/Noah/Gibson/Ellis/[insert borderline All-Star here] are not franchise players.

Nowhere near enough for Howard. you'd need to throw in Curry, take Lee out, and add at least 3 first rounders for me to like it.

We really don't know how he feels. Are we in his personal circle ? Nope. We go by what the internet says he feels on Monday and Wednesday.

One thing that should be clear in this is that for Dwight this is purely a business decision. Not ethical or moral, but financial. I don't want him to stay in Orlando because it is "God's will" or because leaving would be unethical, because frankly that is bunk. I want him staying in Orlando because he'll make the most guaranteed money and have a great shot at contending year in and year out. The CBA delivers the first, Orlando's management has to deliver the second. If Dwight thinks the grass is greener somewhere else that says NOTHING about the type of person he is or how moral he is. It says that we failed to demonstrate the competitive edge over our competition.

I would compare him more to Ed Palubinskas... the FT coach who said we wouldn't recognize Dwight after spending a week with him because his FT's would be so much better.
