Game Thread Wiz vs LAL 7PM 3/7

Post#1 » by hands11 » Wed Mar 7, 2012 1:20 pm

So which Wizard will most frustrate you tonight ?

Things are ugly after that GS game, so what does Randy do now ?

There is now help from Ronny.

The Wizards still don’t have a set date for Turiaf’s return from a broken left hand that has kept him sidelined for more than two months. “It’s probably going to be another week or so,” Coach Randy Wittman said. “We’ll get another check. It’s still not ready to take any contact right now.”

Lewis is out with a bone bruise in his knee. Something different then before. He had an MRI.

For me, I would be happy if he simply make Mason first SG off the bench and get Mo Evans in this more.

After LA just lost to the Pistons last night, this could get really ugly really early.

How can they match up against Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and Kobe ?
I expect McGee will have a rough night.

Maybe the best thing to do is go small and out run them. Not a lot of good options.

Lakers suck on the road, I believe they are 6-13. I am totally confident John Wall will exploit their inability to guard PGs and have a huge game. Gasol will be disinterested... Bynum may get 30 again and Kobe will get easy baskets but their bench is horrible on the road.

If DET can beat them, there is at least a possibility
we could as well. Not counting on it though.

Would love to see it happen though however tank-horrid
it would be. So tired of smarmy Laker fans and still
have no use for a guy of such low character as the
piece of meat.

I told Seraphin and Ves at the postgame autograph
thing Mon night that they needed to give us a W tonight.
We'll see how useful that recommendation was <sigh>.

actually, as good as the Lakers have been I have always in the past been confident about us beating them or playing very well against them. Theyre good but they always been a bigger slower time who would be given hell by quick up & down style teams.

We dont have Gil or the big 3 anymore but we still have the pieces to be able to play that style succesfully against them. Wall is on fire and NY finally had a good shooting game while we all know he loves to play the Lakers more than any other team in the league.

JC could go either way. Could be hyped to play against Kobe and play well or he could get too hyped and chuck all the way. Dray has had some solid games against them in the past and now in his 3rd game back it wouldnt shock me to see him play better.

Still, this game will come down to speed & quickness. Wall, JC, & NY have to play well with a lil help from Dray. That decides how this game will go and I think Wall & NY will play well. JC & Dray are the question marks.

Again, this is one of those games where Wall could win or keep us in it by himself if we had that high screen system. To me, the high screen is even a much better fit then the p&r because Wall is a good and willing passer anyways but the high screen would allow him to live in the paint while going at full speed and keeping bigs in foul trouble. He would kill Bynum and guys like that in this game but we dont run it so whatever

It's either a win for wizards or a blowout for the Lakers. I expect a monster game for Pau Gasol. and Jordan on Kobe will be tuff. On the bright side there are none who can really match up with John wall quickness on lakers Wall should have a good game against fisher that just to much of a mismatch for fisher. Even if Kobe guards wall still to much of a quickness advantage.

No reason to think that we have any chance of winning tonight really.

I expect the Wizards will win this game.

Washington gets almost all of its scoring on the perimeter. Last night, Detroit beat LAL with Rodney Stuckey having a huge, huge game. It didn't matter that Bynum went over 30 and Pau had 20, and both guys had double doubles. They still lost.

Young legs will probably win today. Unlike GS, there are no guards the Wizards can't keep in front of them. Also, Nick Young has by far over his career played his best games against the Lakers. Between him, Wall, and Crawford; the Lakers are going to let one or more of those guys go off.

I won't be disappointed with any loss, beat down or otherwise, for the sake of tanking.

I just expect the Wizards will win this game. LAL struggles to exceed 100 points and I think they're going to need at least 105. The Wizards are just going to run guys like Booker and Vesely at C, and LAL won't match up. Just like with Detroit, the Lakers will probably lose is my prediction.

“If was just me, choosing to play, I would’ve been back a long time ago,” Turiaf said. “They are putting the strain on myself, on me, because they know sometimes, I may not be the most rational guy when comes to help teammates and to do stuff.”

Smell like tank to me.

Turiaf has been working out regularly with Wizards strength and conditioning coach Drew Cleary, but said he is looking forward “to beating on someone else and not just air.”

They have one of those ?

Always nice to read someone with hope. I wasn't feeling much of it going into this game. Not after last game. Not after seeing Nick first off the bench at SG dribbling from the foul line to half court. I just don't see how they get it going it Nick plays like that and McGee pulls 6 WTF moves like last game. It just ruins the teams rhythm and they have a very narrow margin for error.

I just hope Crawford finds his grove again. He was very off last game. It should also be interesting to see what Randy does with the duds. You would hope they come out in warm up different.

Oh. Side note. Did you know McGee doesn't warm up with the team. He does it before them by himself. I heard him say that in an interview.

That makes sense. I am assuming that he is working on post moves and that would be hard with a lot of guys shooting.

Ugh. The crowd's already giving Kobe MVP chants 4 minutes into the game. :nonono:

What's worse, booing Andray Blatche during every touch or hearing MVP cheers for Kobe at the Verizon Center?

Sad to say, there are probably more front-running Lakers fans in the D.C. area then there are Wizards fans.

^ Kobe. It's one thing for fans to "discipline" their own. It's another thing to cheer for the other team.

To be fair.... we've been losing for a LONG time. Weeknight games for a losing team are gonna be filled with frontrunners.
