yeah, i don't know if its just me, but after the all-star break, it seems like drew has come out with some crazy fire. he's moving better, patrolling the paint extremely well, just punking people in the post, and best of all, orchestrating the offense from the post in ways one could only dream of a few months ago when we were all concerned about his ability to handle doubles.

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
Regardless of what he was doing in this video, I'm glad he did that with Fisher. The dude is constantly leaving Bynum guarding 2 to 3 people on D and Fish is just standing there acting like he'll get them the next time around.
March 15th can't come soon enough. Instead of KONY2012 we need a BENCH-Fisher 2012 or Retire Fisher 2012 lol

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
This happened right after Kobe missed a shot and Gasol had the rebound in both hands just a foot or 2 from the rim, and like he does all the time these days, found a way to lose the ball without getting the put back shot up.
That was a key play in a tight game down the stretch that set Bynum off.
I can't say I blame him. My reaction when watching that happen was similar.

Yupp. He is just playing completely differently. People were pleased to see how everything was coming together so well for Drew but the one thing he had to work on was the double team. Not only has he worked on the double team but he is running the court more so than we have seen in the past. He is going after more lobs than I can remember and his passing has greatly improved. In past years we would see Drew come back but not really add much more to his game. In these past two seasons we are witnessing Bynum evolve as a player right before our eyes. He is becoming a complete player in terms of what you want your center to do.
Here are highlights of the big fella from last night.

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
Bynum is and has been a beast since the year he was first injured. The presence of Gasol has slowed down his progression but, like a good young QB (Steve Young/Aaron Rodgers) backing up a wily veteran, he might be better off in the end because of his having to watch so much from the sideline (while Gasol and Odom finish games).
Don't get it twisted, that is one of the biggest reasons they were soooo quick to let Odom go. They did not want any player to continue to stand in the way of his development.
Like I've always thought, once they give him a real opportunity, he'd step up to the plate.
All that being said, I'd trade his ass in a second for a dymanic (preferably young) PG.
I think at this point, it is more important to build this team around the type of game that Kobe has ... and Gasol compliments Kobe's game better (plus Bynum value around the league will net us the better PG than Gasol).
I love Bynum (always have), just speaking my truth.

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
It looks to me like they were tryimg to get the ball out of stuckeys hand. easier said then done when you have slow man fish with the assignment..
i just cant stand this guy, every freakin screen he lets his big man switch onto the smaller guy then acts like he can guard a big downlow
A lot of things happened last night that **** us over.. too much jumpshots coming from u know who, fisher playing when it shouldve been blake. Mike brown and the coaching staff needs to start regulating these fools and start playing good all around basketball

I've noticed it as well. He probably feels like he has a lot more credibility now with an All-Star appearance under his belt.

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
^ This is why we need to move Gasol for depth purposes before the deadline. To balance the strength in the lineups and give Drew more room to operate down in the post. Bynum is a 20/10 big man waiting to happen.
I love what Gasol has done for the team but having two All-Star big men with glaring weakness everywhere else is redundant. We also need to see that Fisher get as little minutes as possible.

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
what i learned from that video is that Derek Fisher is definitely the worst starting PG in the league, and i dont think its close.

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
Granted, it takes two to trap, but I didn't see much effort from Andrew on that play either. Except for the yelling part. Which, admittedly, was awesome.

Re: Bynum really wanted to double team
it looked like he was trying to trap stuckey to get the ball out of his hands, and fisher really had no idea what he was doing. it worked until stuckey got the ball back and then neither of them did anything.
