http://blogs.voanews.com/sonny/2012/03/ ... k-biyombo/

Jordan and Silas had to be encouraged by the way Charlotte’s young forward-center, Bismack Biyombo, played against the more experienced Howard during the contest. In the best game of his rookie season in the NBA, the Congolese teenager Biyombo tallied 10 points, seven blocked shots and a career-high 15 rebounds.

Howard had 15 points, 17 rebounds and two blocked shots, as he and Biyombo engaged in an entertaining battle of big men. Speaking in the locker room after the game, the 19-year-old from Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo said he enjoyed testing his skills again against Howard. Biyombo also played well against the Orlando star earlier this season.

(closg, I was just as wrong about Biyombo.)

Hate to admit it but he's probably better than my man Ken Faried. BB is an amazing physical speciman and he's reportedly the first guy to practice and the last guy to leave. Has the best work ethic and is extremely coachable. Scary what BB might become when he learns the game.
The Wizards shoukd have drafted Derik Queen

Thanks for that article CCJ. I loved BB "testing himself " against the NBA's premier center Dwight Howard. You can't say the same about McGee :(

I was wrong about BB, but I would have taken him over Vesely :-)

I think that is true for most here. Vesely was at the top of the board's Least Wanted list. It was such an obvious bad pick but the guy who made it is the one getting paid to make the picks.

It's also interesting to see Kawhi Leonard -- who many here simply hated as a potential 6th pick -- excelling in San Antonio.

I think people are jumping the gun a bit on Leonard - though to a lesser extent than they did on Rubio. Leonard's a good defender and rebounder with freakishly long hands and has done okay offensively - but I'm still not sure his offense is going to be enough to make him a player I groan about letting get away.

Leonard's per 36 numbers are 11.2/7.6. Compared to Vesely that is beast-like but he still looks like a tweener with limited offensive ability.

Agreed. He's solid, he's light years better than Vesely but I'm not losing sleep over not having him.

Pau Gasol just got traded either to HOU or GSW

HOU is Gasol for Dragic/Martin/Scola OR Lowry/Scola

GSW deal is Gasol + Artest + 1st round pick LAL for Curry, Wright, Lee, and perhaps Biedrins...:o

Ruzious, I posted this for you because I know how much you (don't) like this guy. :)

CLEVELAND — If Cavaliers coach Byron Scott has his way, backup point guard Ramon Sessions will remain with the team for the rest of the season.

Image

But with the NBA trade deadline arriving Thursday at 3 p.m., Cleveland general manager Chris Grant will ultimately determine if that occurs.

When I think about the future and Sess not being here, I go, ‘Damn, I have no idea what we’re gonna do,’” Scott said Sunday prior to the Cavaliers’ game against the Houston Rockets. “That’s why I try not to think about it because he’s played terrific basketball for us.

“I would love for him to be here — and I know he’s got a (player) option for next year — but I don’t want to think about next year right now.”

Sessions is one of the more attractive names on the market, especially for contending teams in need of help running their offense. He is averaging 10.4 points and 5.1 assists this season while playing in all 39 of Cleveland’s games.

The Cavs have won three in a row. Not much has gone down and the trade deadline looms. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sessions end up with the Lakers.

It is stunning that a GM would talk glowingly of his own player while he's trying to trade him.

Shocking I say! :)

Did he really call him Sess? :o

Ruzious, I never gave Byron Scott calling him "Sess" a thought, until you brought that up.

Not that it's a bad thing ...

So Orlando is giving Dwight the option of choosing the fate of Otis Smith and Stan Van Gundy should he sign an extension. I say fire Stan and let the Wizards hire him.

Interesting - for those hoping to re-sign McGee, this should be good news, as it seems to remove one of the prime bidders (and maybe the only team crazy enough to offer a huge deal to JaVale).

On the other hand, if you were hoping for a trade, the prime destination is no longer available.

I probably fall more on the trade side, so it looks like a negative. But hey - maybe it means the 1-year tender for McGee, and we get to see how well he does in the Joerger system for a year?

Monte had a civil suit going on and he's not a choir boy like Steph Curry. The Ws want to roll with Klay Thompson and probably get Charles Jenkins more burn. The main thing I think is Mark Jackson was probably not feeling Monte.

Udoh seems like a guy who has a pretty decent game. I guess he was the sacrifice to get rid of Monte.

Dwight has told the Magic he wants to stay the rest of the season which is basically his way of peacing out July 1 so that the team he goes to isn't gutted. Melo should have done the same thing.

Sucks to be an Orlando Magic fan right now, unless he's traded by Thursday they are pretty much going to lose him for nothing.

How are they going to defend anybody with starting guards that go 6-1 and 6-2, and no decent Center to funnel drivers towards?
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.
