Trade deadline Chatter

Post#1 » by Powder Blue » Wed Mar 7, 2012 2:38 pm

Well here's an article to get things going...

We know Chris Andersen has been on the trade block for a little while now; even though he has provided some nice minutes in spurts this season. But who else could the Nuggets be looking to deal? As Ziller points out, it might not be out of the realm of possibilities that Andre Miller could be involved in a deal because, even though he's loved by George Karl, of his expiring contract status and advancing NBA age.

Andersen, and his remaining two-years, $9.3 million salary, doesn't really leave trade enthusiasts salivating at what he could bring back in a deal. Rather, a move of the Birdman would help the Nuggets clear some salary cap space for the Ty Lawson extension and help dislodge the logjam that is the Nuggets front-court. Injuries to Timofey Mozgov, Nene Hilario, and Kosta Koufos make dealing the Bird a somewhat risky move, but he's an expensive luxury the Nuggets probably don't want to afford.

Miller is a little different story, as his $7.8 million expiring deal has some value as does the fact that the soon-to-be 36 year-old point guard is still a capable starter in the League. But again, the Miller and Andersen deals don't mean the Nuggets would be getting back big-time talent.

I didn't read this anywhere so don't get worked up but would you pull the trigger on a deal that consisted of....

Nene+Lawson for Deron Williams (who also agrees to an extension)???

Why would Deron re-sign in Denver?

Maybe he realizes how much of a mistake it was to leave Utah so he gives another "smaller" market that has a chance to win a shot. IDK but if he would agree to extension I would say only Gallo is untouchable

Deron wouldn't extend here but I'd take him.

I'd love to see Dre shipped off for another decent backup PG that won't be played with Ty at the end of a game. Nene hasn't been healthy long enough to draw a good offer.

Bird , if there is a taker , yeah sure but who ? We may not be that lucky to ship him away anytime soon.

Deron : he is a whiny little brat, after that Utah debacle and he is not really good enough as most of people think.

calderon pounds the ball more than dre. not good for this offense. i suppose he can shoot though. but ultimately i don't want his 9-10 million on the books unless we can get rid of dre & bird in the same trade.

Most stars in this league talk about wanting a trade but I hear what you're saying. Trust me it won't happen. We'll end up sending Dre away and signing Anthony Carter!!

Calderon would play aside Ty, we don't want that.

I read an article suggesting that the Nuggets try to trade Nene for an expiring contract and a lottery pick -- possibly with New Orleans. I'm not that familiar with this year's draft class, but unless it's awful I can't say this option shouldn't at least be considered, particularly with the emergence of Faried.

I would love to get out of Nene's contract, but I doubt it'll happen like that. Never should have been offered in the first place.

Since the t-wolves just lost rubio for the season, i think denver would consider moving miller over there to help them out. Even if they are our divison rivals, they have helped us out befor. What do you guys think of this.

Denver trades: Andre Miller, Rudy Fernandez, GSW 2nd rounder

Minnesota Trades: Anthony Randolph, Wesley Johnson

i really don't want either of those players.
