I love it ... don't see why they would do it. They already have Randolph and I don't believe he plays much.

However, if we can dump Tyrus, I'd love to get Randolph for peanuts.

New Jersey fan on the trade board suggested Petro, Morrow, Shawne Williams and Houston 1st for Najera and Diaw.

Would mean we're carrying an extra $7.5 mill next year but an extra first is worth it. Especially seeing they are expiring at the same time as Diop, Carrol, Maggette.

They shouldn't be willing to take on tyrus' contract

You've peaked my interest a bit. Morrow is positive value, in my opinion.

I agree Morrow and the 1st do it for me, especially seeing what we're giving up!

I would hope we could engineer a better deal than that...maybe include DJ with Diaw to procure a real keeper of a player in return. Still, if there is nothing else, perhaps it is worth the extra money next year to gain the extra pick.

Wait..that also means we'd have to cut Higgins!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Saw the Bobcats doing a walk through before the game in their practice gym and Boris was not involved at all. He stood on the sideline leaning against the wall. Afterwards everyone left to either the locker room or the arena. Boris stayed behind and shot baskets alone. He is done here.

What I love about it is that we are getting a first for Diaw and Najera, hopefully we could get something for Dj in a separate trade.

BrotherDave wrote:I'll be honest, I'm a Boris Diaw fan. That being said, Boris can't help this team. He's a guy that needs to play with good players to make them even better, not a guy that can carry a young team and make them decent.

We're just not a good fit for Boris and essentially never have been when it became evident that we're going to be rebuilding.

I mostly of agree with this. Boris was a good fit on the semi-contending LB teams. He's not a good fit for either a rebuilding team or a Paul Sials team.

I think that fans overlook his good qualities, such as defense and unseslfishness, because his flaws are so glaring, especially in our current situation.

In short, it's the Bobcats who have changed more than Diaw.

As for the proposed NJ trade ... it's nice to think about but I don't expect something like that to actually happen.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

:D Heres an idea Cleveland might entertain.
Both Jamison/Parker are 35 years or older with expiring contracts. Parker has bird rights ,but maybe we could work something out and sign him for 1 year if he still wants to play. Jamison wants to play to sign him for 1 year. Trade Diaw TT and Hig to Cleveland. We open up 2nd spot on roster for Cho to sign 2 solid FA with money he saves resigning Jamison and Parker to lower 1 year contracts.( and Najera's expiring) Maybe enough to go after FA Center (like Haws?) And still has top 3 2012 draft pick and sell Portlands pick in low 20's to bring in more FA $.
2012-2013 lineup
DJA ,Kemba ,(sign DJ)
Hendo, Parker ,Williams, Carroll,
Mags ,UPS , FA or draft pick
Jamison DJW Draft Pick or FA
Haws,Mullens, Biz, ( Diop Amensity 1 year left on contract)

then Jamison,Parker, and Carroll contracts drop off after next season

Seem slike a bit of a duplication with Reggie already on the roster and under contract - no?

Maybe we could trade Reggie and his very reasonable contract some where for something?

You have to realize that with the shortened season this year the salaries are much lower and you wouldn't be paying his full salary for this year.

You do realize that the season is only a month shorter than usual. The guys actually only missed two paychecks.

You have to look at the future. Who would we spend that money on THIS offseason? Lets be real, IF we are going to compete anytime soon then we are going to do it after next off season. If we keep Tyrus, sure we could amnesty him, but MJ and company STILL have to pay him.

You can't look to the future at the expense of the present. The Bobcats have been hemhoraging money for years. You want to take on a massive amount of salary just to avoid paying a little for four short years ? Being rid of Thomas salary in 14 would not help us at all if the Cats file bankrupsey in 13. Everyone knows that amnestied salaries have to be paid that was not my point. My point was that it does not have to count against the cap. Therefore if the bobcats want to they could just amnesty Thomas, and have the cap space you want to create. I can't imagine why Cho would want to challenge the luxury tax next season with a team that would still struggle just to be in the playoff race.

Seem slike a bit of a duplication with Reggie already on the roster and under contract - no?

The thing is Slam I'm sure you know Morrow is a local boy like Curry and Jamison. I am sure that he would love to be here much more than Reggie.

Can't Reggie play three?

1- Are the Nets trying to get rid of Farmar?

2- The Timberwolves and Clippers are in need of a SG.

Clippers would probably give up Foye or Gomes with a draft pick. Timberwolves would probably offer Wes Johnson or Anthony Randolph with a draft pick. Personally I would go for Wes/draft pick, followed by Foye/draft pick. Prefer not to bring in Ranolph unless its a good pick.

3- But all that said, Morrow is from the area. Also considering Reggie Williams is under a cheap contract. Considering this season, this would be a nice problem to have.

4- Jamison seems to like playing for the Cavs. Can't imagine he'd want to join another rebuilding team.

Lakers, Mavericks, Nets, and teams looking at an expiring contract for their 2 years remaining contracts.

I'm suprised Dallas hasn't tried to dump Odom on us for Diaw. I really thought I would have read something on hoopshype like that. But then Kong Kardashian to Charlotte?? Ehhh... The Bobcats would get national exposure on "Keeping up with Armenian Whores" though.

As a Celtics fan, I'd happily exchange JO's expiring (and possibly retiring) corpse and a 2nd rounder (and a couple of our mediocre young guys like E'Twaun Moore and Greg Stiemsma) for Diaw's expiring corpulence.

I'm a huge Diaw fan; have been since his first breakout year in Phoenix. I think he's still very much capable of playing a valuable 6th/7th man role on a contender. Of course, there would be the distinct risk of Rondo & Diaw getting stuck in infinite unselfishness loops, but I think it's worth it.

Odom's contract has a team option after this season. Mavs have no reason to trade him for an expiring contract because he essentially is an expiring contract if that's the direction they choose to go.

I thought Boris Diaw(expiring) to Mavs, Shawn Marion to Pacers and Tyler Hansbrough/Dahtany Jones to the Bobcats could work for all of the parties involved though

It's a step closer to the Pacers and Bobcats getting Dwight Howard out of the East and to the Mavs. Plus, I think Marion helps the Pacers more than Hansbrough and Hansbrough/Jones are both from NC/Duke. That'll sell a few ticket to some

If you thought Odom was a whiny baby after being traded to Dallas just wait if he did in fact get traded to Charlotte. He would probably kill himself.
