probably the wrong thread for this but did anyone else see in the Wiretap that the kings signed Clifford Ray?? I am not sure if the magic tried to go for him again but I can only hope that Otis made an attempt at it.. If Dwight was to leave we need him to help develop the next center..

It's no secret that Minnesota is likely to trade Michael Beasley, with the most interested potential suitors being the Boston, the Lakers and Orlando. The Magic are pursuing multiple avenues in an attempt to improve the team in the hopes that a long playoff run could persuade Howard to stay. If Orlando holds off on trading Howard at the deadline, sources say Beasley could be a viable piece for the Nets to add as they try to upgrade their talent to make the team more attractive to Howard and Deron Williams. Maybe more of a Joe Johnson and Josh Smith for Monta and Lee?

lol I just said that without actually reading the article. I read article and...
As the trade deadline approaches, the Hawks have taken calls from teams interested in acquiring Smith—Golden State is among the teams who have inquired. But the Hawks so far have given no indication that they intend to part with Smith, who likely would command a high price in a trade.

Probably, and either way the odds are wildly against him ending up here, but it won't stop this board completely losing it's mind for the next few days :D

the Buck are dying to get rid of S. Jackson, the David Khan and Otis think the same way so it should be too hard and they wanna get rid of Beas, with the Jzz its just a clean swap of 2 Pgs

If I was a cynic and I was ATL, and I knew Smith had to be moved, I'd move him for Monta, just to piss us off and increase the chances of Dwight moving out of the division. Plus they'd be a pretty good when Horford comes back.

that would be the worst for us. 2 players that could get dwight to stay get traded for eachother.

beasley could really help our offense and couldn't be any worse on defense than turk. he is a low IQ player though

It makes too much sense for it not to happen. GS almost traded with Philly to land Iggy over the summer. If ATL was interested in Monta, who would be great running point guard for them, and knew Smith had to be moved, that would be a deal that keeps ATL competitive and improves GS.

For the past week, I've actually been hoping that the Hawks hold on to Smith, for this reason. They'll never trade him to their in-division rival, and Smith is exactly who GS are looking for. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see ATL trade him for Brook Lopez, adding the center they've needed next to Horford. If that happens, might as well just trade Dwight. Too many teams in the league with better assets.

Beasley would probably kill Stan... either by knife, or inducing a heart attack

Personally, I wouldn't want the Magic to trade for Josh Smith no matter if he's one of the guys on Dwight's wish list. He's not the go-to scorer that our team desperately needs right now and we'd likely have to give up Ryan Anderson in order to make that sort of trade happen, making it nearly a sideways move at PF.

However, I like that Smith has requested a trade because he can be used in a 3-way that sends what we're looking for to Orlando. Maybe something like Ryno and D.Lee to ATL, JSmoove and Redick to GSW, and Monta to Jamlando.

The worst case scenario would be if the Nets slide in and make a move for Jsmoove, setting up a DWill, Josh Smith and D12 Big 3 opportunity this summer.
