I haven't kept tabs on Okur and I realize he's expiring but how are they going to sort out the logjam of:

Bogut/Jefferson
Favors/Milsap

I know some would say "a good problem to have" but I doubt they'd set it up that way.

Okur has been in New Jersey all season and they'd sort out the logjam by trading Jefferson and playing Favors and Milsap where they belong, at PF. Kanter would be a reserve with Favors, neither of whom project to ever get to a healthy Bogut's level let alone being anywhere near it now.

If somebody is offering lotto picks, there should be a 100% chance he's gone...

Does anybody trust Hammond to make this move?

This is a Hammond (kohl) move....so my call is......

Some package of Bogut being traded to Boston with the best piece we get back is Ray Allen.

Yeah, you guys are all drooling over these lotto picks. I just don't see that happening.

This is going to be part win-now, part win-later. A "good" known player along with a middling pick. That's what Herb has done for 25-years now. It is what he did in the Ray Allen trade. Get Desmond so that if/when GP walks, he still had something to show for it.

Herb tosses nickels around like manhole covers. He doesn't take risks. So he'll want something reliable he can watch play here the rest of the season and then take some pick between 12-25.

PP you need to have Budinger in your deal to make it more realistic, and then we can make a run at resigning Ersan and going after Asik this summer.

Gery is exaggerating the odds quite a bit here.

Good.

I'm not against trading Bogut I just think right now is a terrible time and Hammond is the not the guy I want doing it.

When is the time?

If he comes out and averages 12/12 next year, is somebody going to offer a top 7 pick instead of a top 10 pick? What odds would you put on that?

Every time we say we should wait, it blows up in our faces. Either "he's playing well, let's see how this all comes together and not trade him!" or "his value could go up. We could get a B+ grade prospect and 10th pick instead of a B- grade prospect and 12th pick."

What is the ideal scenario for waiting? We need to just do something at this point.

Also have to consider the return. If we get lucky and this is both true and we trade him for a pick (chances now are more like .5%), do you want a lottery pick this year or next year? I want one this year.

Also, I'm not sure how much truth there is to the "multiple lotto teams" offering for him, but what are the odds that he starts playing well and a projected lotto team actually offers for him? I'm actually doubting the rumor that anyone with a lotto pick is offering for him right now. What's the point for most of them?

Scenario A: Bogut plays well.

Does whoever is our GM have the balls to pull the trigger? Will anyone with a lotto pick or prospects want to offer them when they are sitting in the lottery anyways? If a lotto team gives us their pick for him, all he does for that lotto team is hurt our pick coming back by playing well.

Scenario B: Bogut's stock is moderate. He still plays great D and his offense is still poor as it was to start this season.

We've just wasted 8 months.

Scenario C: Bogut gets hurt again.

We've wasted 8 months and now will get less for him.

B and C probably have a more likely chance of happening. There are lots of downfalls to A, including, which team sitting in lotto position is going to want to trade for a 28 year old "win now" center?

BuckPack - what more can you say.

Also - what else did Gery say? He speculate at all on possible destinations?

No, he did say he talked to a lot of players, coaches and GM's though. :)

I'll admit I haven't been watching games recently, the last game I watched full was Ersan's 20/20 game and after that was watching them blow an 11 point lead in the 2nd half. But is the re-signing Ersan bandwagon growing????? Just absolutely ridiculous. If there has ever been an NBA player playing out of his mind for a new contract/to get out of Milwuakee, it's Ersan.

When we have a real center his rebounds go way down. Why are we acting like this guy is a piece worth moving forward with?

So there will be 5,000 paid seats instead of 5,050. I'm guessing Bogut didn't actually have to pay for them anyways.

AB has always insisted that he did pay (something) for the seats. Now, did he get a considerable discount? I'm sure of that. And good for him, and good for the Bucks.

His rebound rate beside Bogut has been excellent virtually his entire career.
