I'm just gonna ignore what Ty said.

Is the multi really that good? I've always played the game for the story, in fact I've generally felt that the weakest part of the game is the actual fighting. Shooter+RPG is kind of awkward, is the multi just straight up shooter?

Multi is awesome, kinda Gears-esque except it just feels more rewarding. The controls aren't as great as Gears but everything other than that is good. And yeah it's a shooter.
