This

Plus, why would contenders supposedly also be interested given Bogut's injury? Makes no sense.

Because he's likely to be fine by the playoffs and all the reputable advanced numbers show that even with gimpy offense he's a significant difference maker.

This makes no sense. There is zero incentive for a lottery team to trade for Bogut right now. There is zero incentive for the Bucks to move him now without knowing the lottery slots. The only semi plausible deal is a team out of contention but also out of the top ten... who had several assets to deal to the Bucks in a win now move. But this just doesnt pass the sniff test.

How is Bogut tradeable right now when he probably won't play again this season unless we are going to give him away?

When is the last time someone was traded when they were hurt?

Bogut's time frame for the injury was 8-12 weeks 6 weeks ago yesterday and it hasn't changed, he's back in full rehab and has been working out for a couple of weeks now. Which part of that says he won't play again this season to you?

Yea he very well could end up playing, but things like a broken foot can go all the way to 12 weeks or even longer if any sort of complication were to arise. There is enough uncertainty either way that if i'm another team, no way in hell would i give up a valuable asset unless my doctors are pretty much 100 percent certain that Andrew will recover fine and it won't have any impact on his future. I'd also want a discount for acquiring a still injured player.

If i'm a contending team, i'd pass entirely given i couldn't be sure when i'd have Bogut on the court. So i just don't buy there being a lot of interest in Bogut right now since he's still injured and could be out another 6 weeks.

Not if you top three protect the pick and don't send much back this way.

Utah likely has two lotto picks. Their own which is 12th right now and Golden State's which is 10th.

Al Jefferson and one of those picks (top three protected) could be a really good trade for Utah.

Here's another. New Orleans holds the T-Wolves pick. Right now that pick is slotted at the 13th overall. With the way Minny is going, that pick likely is #13 or #14.

Kaman plus that pick for Bogut works. And would probably be a good trade for NOLA.

Would you as a contender trade a valuable asset or two for a player who could still miss another six weeks and even then you can't be certain that Bogut won't have any setbacks in rehab that pushed the return date back further?

I'm just trying to recall a trade of another player at the deadline who was only in the middle of rehab from a serious injury and i'm drawing a blank? Even if there is no prior example, that doesn't mean for sure that Bogut also won't be, but i just think it significantly reduces the odds.

Gery Woelful has become quite an idiot, though. Started with the whole Ramon issue, where he was wrong on every single statement he made. Actually, since Hammond came in, Woelful hasn't got anything right, really.

So, probably, this is a lie.

Why is that good for New Orleans? That team is straight garbage and needs to rebuild as much as the Bucks do.

You must have missed the Crawford/Felton idea.

That's because Snake Eyes and he were buddies, so he would get fed info. from LH before it was ever released.

If I was SA, Miami, Philly, Atlanta, Boston, LAC, Mem.. then yes I would.

What deals did Woelful get right when Harris was the GM?

He used to have some inside scoops before the TJ/CV deal went down. Woelfel was given no knowledge of that deal by Larry and pretty much took Larry at face value when he said, on the radio no less, that he had nothing in the works. That was a pretty funny week actually. Gery was very much against that trade after it went down and I want to say PP speculated that it was the betrayal from the snake that ultimately led Gery to his stance on the CV deal. Hissss

Word has it that the Hawks' Jsoh Smith is asking to be traded...

Bogut for Josh straight up....BOOM. There you go. A Superstar still young and approaching his prime.

Simple deal.

Sorry to damper your spirits MBBOT, but Smith doesn't like Milwaukee.

I say Milwaukee would be last on Smith places he wants to be traded too.
